Just watched mad max for the first time

No shit? I watched Fury Road with passing interest and I had no idea Immortan Joe was played by the same actor as Toecutter. I remember reading how he was a well respected classically trained actor but that he enjoyed playing a manic character like Toecutter. That’s pretty interesting that he played the villain in the most recent Mad Max.

There is a theory that Toecutter IS Immortan Joe, and Max is the Feral kid.

Some scenes lead precedent to this. For instance when he says his name is Max when asked.
Like he had to think of it for a minute and decide he was gonna just assume Max’s name also since he didn’t have one.

This movie is trash. What the fuck was that? You call that an action movie? They show literally 0 people get killed. Jeez how prude is Australian film? I thought i was gonna see epic road scenes and dudes getting murked by gunfire. What I got was a bunch of nonsense. Is it supposed to be so bad its good?

The movie is paced like bumper to bumper traffic too. When it was over i thought 5 hours had gone by.

Now I have to watch the road warrior. I've heard that it is better. Which doesn't seem hard at all so it probably sucks too.

Chalk this up as my number 1 movie disappointment

The road warrior is the best in the franchise. Forget the rest. I had the same experience as ts when watching mad max.
 
Fury Road had plenty of story. If you look in the right places.

 
I don't understand why people that like the mad max franchise can sit through Fury Road. Especially with the guy playing the flaming guitar.. wtf was that all about?!

Duuuude I just watched it the other day and also thought it sucked dick
 
Road warrior was slightly better but still I wouldn't say it was a good movie
 
I had both this and the road warrior on a pirate VHS many years ago. Used to watch them back to back so I have a big soft spot for this movie.

Mad Max one has awesome dialogue and is just a cool little film. Some of the lines in this film are hilarious 'don't let him lick your ice cream lady, I've seen him lick his eyebrow clean with that tongue!'.

Road Warrior is a more entertaining film, just much bigger and better.

Fury Road is a visual spectacle but I prefer Mad Max one and two.

Thunderdome is fucking trash. Starts off fairly good but just turns into utter crap by the end. It's the Rocky 5 of Mad Max films.

I like mad max and all the originals but I thought fury road was one of the best action movies of all time. It's the road warrior of the modern Era. God damn it was good. Witness me!
 
Yeah most people don't like mad max that much. The road warrior is the good one.

Man Kurt is in so many absolute classics.
 
Although the movie has that weird late 70s / early 80s style jump editing, I felt the idea was great, took the post apocalyptic idea and revamped it; along with awesome stunts. Then road warrior built on it.
