I try to keep up, but I don't know that book. I'm a Joyce guy, as you obviously know, and I'll look into Hugh Kenner. It was a lifetime ago and a best friend's wife, friend to me too, came up and said, I was suggested to read this book, and I like it, but it seemed more up your alley. Hang on. Sex and Sunsets, Tim Sandlin. She thought I'd love it because I was into Ezra Pound and the tagonist hears Ezra Pound dripping out of his faucet. It wasn't bad, but I quit reading it because for sure I'm gonna hate this motherfucker for dripping Ezra pound, I'm too involved for a comedic interpretation. Good friend though, married my best friend. I should give her the book back, it's been a quarter century, no, it's been awhile. I read enough. I know you must've have followed me enough to know that would strike a nerve. Yep. I'm falling behing in the era, and the Cantos are soo heavy, I make no grand knowledge, not because I don't care, they are just hard for me, not all of Pound, most of the Cantos are so great, it's almost too much. The problem with me is I get so fucking sad and intrenched in the minutiae and languages that I feel so fucking stupid. It wouldn't and didn't matter at 22, but I'm not 22,thoughts on Hugh Kenner's book The Pound Era?
To know me, The gods interviened, I'm an idiot lumber guy who liked Poe and Jim Morrison, almost was in a wheelchair and an opening arose to grab a couple years of literature in college. That's who I always was, and the teachers said I should be a prof, but I would for sure I could see, as soon as 22 year old girls thought I was the shit with knowledge, I'd just sleep with all of them and drink myself to death. As beautiful as that sounds, I figured I'd kill myself at about 27. Why bring unnecessary drama to people who love me.
What are your thoughts on the Kenner book, Should I get it.?
I just bought "The Mou
