Sorry about that. It just irritates me when people say Get Out it is just a knock off of some other movie. There is a lot more to it.
It's a satire about the educated black male experience. It's a creepy thriller. Its tone is unlike any other movie.
Is it Best Movie of the Year? No. Is it a good movie? I certainly thought so. For a first-time director it was amazing.
I literally said all of that, in not so many words, in my original post.Sorry about that. It just irritates me when people say Get Out it is just a knock off of some other movie. There is a lot more to it.

My face when I looked at your avatar after reading your post:I enjoyed it but if it gets best picture or something, its definitely an affirmative action vote. Its essentially a modern exploitation/grind house, which is great, but I think the hard on liberal hollywood has for films about race cause it to be overrated and given depth that really isnt there. Trust me, if the lead was latino or any other non white people, wouldnt care about this film. The black white dichotomy and culture bias in the US is very real.
you aren't the first one, buddeh. My face when I looked at your avatar after reading your post:

lol that is evilArmond White has kind of turned into a meme on RT since he's known for a lot of contrarian reviews (IIRC this isn't the first time he's ruined a movie's 100% rating on RT-- I think he did it to Toy Story 3, also).
What should it be categorized as then? It was literally no different than any other B movie slasher film.I don't think it was overrated. I thought it was well acted, well directed, and well edited. It had great pacing. I liked the social commentary. I don't think this should be categorized as a slasher film.
