Jones will eventually face Aspinal

Who are the current standout fighters at heavyweight?

Who else has 'signature' wins?

You need to apply some basic reasoning.
Is Aspinal’s hw resume better than Jon’s hw resume? Yes, one must be retarded to say otherwise. Jon’s win over Gane is solid, but a win over half dead Stipe means nothing.
The hw division isn’t the strongest and Aspinal is the best right now, but it’s just pure hatred to say Aspinal runs through Jon. Jon has more tools to win this fight.

What is your point then?
I said Aspinal has yet to prove himself and the other dude posted a list of his wins, as if he’s showed enough for us to believe he can beat Jon easily. I mean there are 2-3 solid wins on that list, but far from the greatest.
My point is, Aspinal definitely has a better resume and his interim belt>Jon’s belt, but I favor Jon when they finally face each other.

Jones has not beaten anybody at HW besides a pillow fisted kickboxer with no TDD and a slow Zombie. even DC has a better HW resume.

let me first mention that I’m not a Jones fan, in fact every time there is a chance to question his “GOAT”-ness, I fucking do it.

While I think Jon is not so willing to face Aspinal, he’s also trying hard to make it seem like he doesn’t want to face Aspinal AT ALL. It’s a negotiation tactic. Jon’s doing a good job. He’s doing so to get as much money as he can. It’ll probably be his last fight.

It is definitely disrespectful that teh pink goof brought in the semi-retired out of shape Stipe to fight Jones “for the undisputed Hw belt”. Aspinal is the real champ. You are a moron if you think he isn’t.

With that said, Aspinal’s yet to prove himself. He’s surely done a lot, but to act like he beats Jones without a doubt is a bit far fetched. Jon always find a way to win. Even if he doesn’t, the judges will score a close fight in his favor.

So yeah, the fight will happen sooner than later and as much as I hate to say it, Jon will find a way to win. Sadly most of the fans will say Aspinal wasn’t that good to begin with.

Thoughts?
"I’m not a Jones fan," so you are a Jon fans
We have seen this line 10000000000 times before

Well, Toms resume is not that impressive, but neither is Jons resume: old midgets while doing steroids, like Machida? Rashad? Vitor?
Or super-cans like Anthony Smith, OSP? I mean i would fight those two, lets be honest here
Reyes in not even a top 10 LHW and beat the crap of Jon, just like Gus who was finished in 65 seconds vs Werdum

Jon is just another, Conor, Lesnar, Rousey... UFC hype machine continues

Well I would disagree. Running through the entire hw division in 1 round and making it look easy proves he's head and shoulders above everyone else and certainly could be up to the task of taking out Jones. I personally would favour him in that fight but the arguments that he hasn't proven himself are pretty ridiculous. What more can a guy do than demolish everybody?

Aspinall is the interim champ/no.1 contender, and he's defended that spot already now, which is an absurd thing to do and shouldn't ever be happening.

He's also fought and finished everyone in the top 5 except for Gane, who didn't seem to want to fight him and decided to fight Volkov instead.

There's nothing left to prove lol. Like, what more is Aspinall expected to do here?

I don't think Jon is all that interested. He'll drag it out for a bit more and then retire and go on to spend the next few years talking a bit of smack on twitter while Aspinall goes and fights likely Gane/Volkov for the vacant belt next.

Aspinall hasn't even beat Stipe. Or Gane. Or Ngannou.
Gane ducked him, Ngannou removed himself from the board.

They only dragged Stipe out of retirement to put over Jones.

You dont get to say "The interim champion is an nobody" and keep bringing in retirees and LHW's to fight instead. Defend against Interim or vacate motherfucker.

The Great white hype vs Jones looking like fat Damon Wayans in the movie of the same name.

I think Tom has the best shot to beat Jones. But I wouldn't put money on him. Or not more than $50. Gun to my head, I'm going Jon.
