It would be all the sweeter if Alex won. Plus, we could have argued a number of Jon's opponents should have got taken down immediately and subbed where that didn't actually happen.

After Jon's shoulder injury and his age probably about -180 Jones. I actually think Alex has a lot better chance than people are giving him credit for. He's active and his striking is lethal. If he can avoid the outcome everybody is expecting in the first round his odds of winning are going up each round.

Do people really think Santos and Reyes are that much better than Alex?

I think the difference between Santos and Reyes is Jon felt comfortable enough to stand and play kickboxing with them. He never really seemed pressed to get them down. Against Alex all he would do is spam grappling. I'm sure Alex would have some success defensively but if Jones just pressed him and his entire gameplan was "I can't stand with him" I think he would dominate him with the grappling.
