Jones has no chance against Gane

Jon has the fight IQ to defeat Gane but whether he can do it is another question. That's the fight to make before year end and then Francis vs the winner in Q1 next year.
By years end? I know you realize Jones has been saying he wants to fight at HW for 12 years now?

I don't think any HW has a shot against Gane. I think the Frank loss will turn out to be the best thing that happened to him.

Love Gane but this is nuts. He just almost got KO’d. Love his style though. And I do think Jones has no chance. Jones’ thinking he’s going to come up and dominate slow, clumsy big guys, but Gane is anything but. He’s more like a bigger version of Jones.

Jones has nothing on the feet for Gane, so he would 100% take him down and grapple with him, I love Gane but the Francis fight has shown that his TKD isn't that great.

A newbie wrestler in Ngannou did some damage don't be ridiculous...Jones would take him down with ease. Only Ngannou would stand a chance in the stand up vs Gane, i think Jon knows that aswell so he will utilize the wrestling.
Jones is the same size and athleticism as Ngannou?

I know. Him coming back is a meme at this point but he's at the proper weight, training regularly and could fight any time now. I still have hope that he'll make a return.

Jones takes him down and beats him up.

I agree, Jon will take Gane down and hold him down the whole fight to grind out and easy decisions.
Just like he did to 1-legged Santos, Reyes and Gustafsson

The rookie sheepdog high after a win. No surprise from these threads. Tai was a 4/1 underdog who came in with only a puncher's chance. Jones who has lightyears of skill and better defense vs Ganes has 0 chance?

Honestly Jones isn't going to sit there and move slow like Tai and get hit a million times either. He should be one of the faster HWs by moving up, and then his main background is wrestling, so as long as he's the same Jones but filled out properly at HW it could be a bad matchup for Gane. Ngannou landed 4/5 takedowns on Gane with 8 mins of control and hit a sweep on Gane. Supposedly Ngannou's knee was blown before the fight even began. He really needs to work on his ground game and wrestling like Ngannou did.

can't stand jones but he'd probably outgrapple him.

Yeah because there's no way that Gane has taken grappling more seriously after the Ngannou fight. He doesn't seem like the guy to try to improve his weaknesses. He's real unprofessional and sloppy.

Meanwhile Jones hasn't grapple fucked anyone at lhw for years and he's never fought a heavyweight before.

Your post is really insightful and full of critical thinking.

Jon Jones got sparked by Santos and Reyes before fleeing the sport. Does anybody expect to see him again not tmz

and there's lots of reasons to assume gane's TDD is so improved without actually seeing it. nice try slick, not exactly too 'insightful' there either.

jones beat guys everywhere the fight went. like i said, not a fan, but he would figure gane out as well.

Jones takes him down and beats him up.

maybe his younger version. In fact, definitely his younger version. But without peds and a. Substance abuse issue and lack of consistent training? Not sure that Jones will ever look like his old self

Jones is suspended for roids.

There is no reason for this layoff otherwise.

But if he gets clean, him vs Gane would be awesome .

Lol...no he wouldn't. Gane is big as fuck, a far more skilled fighter with more power. He's also very good in the clinch. All he has to do is stuff takedowns. Easy work.

Weekly flavor of the month thread.

Tai was not truly an elite HW despite his rank which was mostly the product of everyone else losing or still being a prospect. Gane lost a decision to injured Francis despite being touted as the most skilled HW ever. This fight doesn't really answer any questions about Gane he was supposed to win. All it does is make Gane a viable option for a title fight again cause he's not coming off a loss anymore. This was a rebound fight for Gane.

Saying Jon Jones has zero chance is ridiculous. Love him or hate him, Jones is one of the greatest, and smartest fighters ever to do it. Gane will be no pushover!!
