Jon Jones had an overrated legacy.

That's reasonable. But notice you had to point to another GOAT level fighter as a comparison. At best you could name 2 or 3 guys with a better resume.

You asked "who else". That's called an answer.

Don't be an assclown because someone answered your question. Personally, I do believe there are others with great resumes but you're not ready for that discussion.

Holy overreaction Batman. Unstable much?

How is this moron allowed to make threads?

You can make an argument that any fighter is overrated or underrated. It doesn’t make it true. The likelihood that his opponents were clean is very low pre-USADA. His resume is incredible. The only thing I can say about Jones is that he did seem to struggle when he got in the cage with someone that shared his length and size. I really hope we get to see him fight Francis.

Not at all and you should say "thank you" when someone answers your question. You're welcome.

Speaking of unstable, just focus on making it a week without getting banned. Cheers bud.

jon jones is a lot like kevin durant and ben simmons, people who are physically bigger but mentally weaker than everyone else, and the media promotes them because they can make a lot of money propping them up, because they are divisive so it generates a lot of engagement because a lot of people are disgusted by them

No. He really doesn't have an overrated legacy.

He beat top 5 fighters in their primes and destroyed them.
I disagree , he beat a lot of fighters no longer in their prime and arguably lost to a few that were. He is easily the Goat LHW but a there is at least a argument on his possibly Goat of MMA status .

I’m president, czar and Kaiser of the Jon Jones hate foundation but his legacy is legit.

I do believe he was on steroids his entire career and I believe he lost to Gus, but I also believe those years most everyone was also juicing.

I do believe DC is a better fighter and that he was cheated out of being the best lhw ever due to Jones being a cheat, but it just is what it is. His physical talents are undeniable

if Jones was mentally he wouldn’t have survived the vitor armbar, or overcome the adversity he faced in the Gus fight. dubious take.

Thiago Santos......Anthony Smith....lots of puffed up middleweights on his record and two further LHW's that were undersized and moved down in Evans and Machida.

Just because YOU SAY everyone is on PED's doesn't make it true. Whereas it is a FACT that Jones is a PED cheat.

Cope better.

You do know that both Santos & Smith both moved up to LHW because they were nearly killing themselves to make 185, right? It's also not a surprise that their best performances came when they weren't cutting 20+ pounds to make 185, but sure, "puffed up middleweights".

So let me get this straight... Jon Jones beat two former LHW champions, both in their athletic primes, in the same division where they were considered the best in the world in... But they count as less because they eventually went down to 185? Albeit Rashad fought there twice as a last-ditch attempt to rejuvenate his career many years after fighting Jon Jones?

I mean, if you need "proof" about something for it to be true for you, I feel terrible for you in a way. In another, I'd love to live life and be so oblivious to everything. But hey, all the power to you. Despite there being tons and tons of documentation, both in writing and in documentaries, that the fallacy of drug testing and that it is complete & utter nonsense, if you want to hold on to the belief that just because there aren't any positive tests... Sorry to break it to ya, but the big cheaters don't get caught through testing. They get caught through people ratting them out. There are some, like Jon Jones & Chael Sonnen, who just aren't all that bright & never figured the shit out.

"Cope better"? Do you even know what that means? I am no fan of Jones Jones and his historical But I guess if all you have are ad hominem attacks, well...

Honest question: Who, exactly, did Jon Jones not fight during his reign? Phil Davis? Rumble Johnson? Does anyone in their right minds think either Mr. Wonderful or Rumble would have even had a chance against Jon Jones? How about Corey Anderson prior to leaving for Bellator or Jimi Manuwa? No chance in hell those are even competitive.

Who else? A trio of washed Tito Ortiz, washed Forrest Griffin or washed Rich Franklin? Maybe if we scrape far enough down the barrel, maybe the grossly overrated James te Huna, who got finished by every single meaningful UFC fighter he went up against? Or maybe Little Nog?

The truth is, people who claim that Jon Jones's resume is weak are being completely dishonest and are bad faith actors. He best nearly every single top LHW of his era and the vast majority of the time, the fights were one-sided.

The guys who say that everyone is on steroids are probably old school, in reality in the past there was a huge selection of people who were likely on something. Now most of them either retired or got caught for cheating or fighting somewhere with no drug testing. In UFC majority of fighters are either clean or use something so irellevant that it doesn't even show itself on tests
Yeah I get it like in Pride

Yeah I get it like in Pride and the rules concerning them were different but that was an even playing field. Nowadays all the guys are on them is preposterous quite frankly

For real
  • Fought washed-up LHWs he had a significant size advantage on
  • Debated he lost to the first LHW that was his own size (Gus)
  • Lost to Reyes and arguably even Santos
It is no mystery he is too scared to fight at HW and ran away from the UFC after the Reyes fight. Too scared to fight at HW his whole career when he had the size for it because the Gus fight exposed that he cut weight for the size advantage, would have gotten eaten alive at HW.

The most overrated MMA fighter of all time.

lol!!!

So the guy that beat seven LHW champions (four recent, two future). One future HW champ in UFC
Two future HW champs in other organization and one HW Tuf winner
Shad 13-1, Lyoto 17-1, Shogun 19-4, Rampage 32-8,Glover 22-0, Cormier 15-0

They were "washed up"????

Try and make it make sense.

Every fighter on the planet must suck then. Because no one else has a better resume.

Over hyped for shure. On steroids, picked fights. Ducked Gus rematch for years. Had favorable match against fading big names. He’s a younger Anderson.
