Jon Jones' crazy genius fighting IQ

Yes totally, I count Reyes as a loss for Jon. I don't even consider it a debatable fight (like Gus), even Dana admitted Jon should've lost.

Still - in terms of losses that's mild, he still won 2 rounds.
It's so impressive that Jon doesn't have a single truly terrible fight.
Never even come CLOSE to being KO'd, never really been badly rocked to the point where he was saved by the bell.
Haven't seen a round where I'd go "Jon would've lost the fight if that round had continued".
Even at times when he's been hit hard, like against Machida, he managed to back up and recompose.

With 14 title fights, it's pretty amazing. Given that even other GOATs like GSP suffered freak KO losses.

(Granted, I'm fine if Jon is excluded entirely from GOAT debates because he's also one of the worst doping cheats and eye poke cheats)

Kosaka was not a legitimate TKO loss, the cut was caused by an illegal strike. RINGS wanted certain fighters to go further, so they ruled it a TKO loss due to cut since the tournament had to keep going. Thing is, the next tournament date was two months later, more than enough time for a cut to heal, and neither Fedor nor Kosaka had any other fights lined up after that one.

I know you're already one of the worse new posters here, but why write 4 paragraphs no one will read when you invalidate your opinion in the first sentence?

My coach trained with him for a bit when he first came to Jackson’s. While he said he got ahead of him in sparring due to his experience, he also said if he stayed, he would have been on the receiving end probably before he won the belt. He was improving at a super fast rate real quick

Yeah Jones fight IQ is very high, and he sticks to a plan that he has and doesn't change it, despite how the fight is going. One of the other main things about Jones is that he is very dynamic, and in those heavier weightclasses you just don't get a lot of dynamic fighters, like most HWs do 1 thing very well but the rest they don't, they just aren't dynamic like Jones. Jones has so many more weapons. Like when was the last time you saw a UFC HW finish a fight by a beautiful spinning back body kick like Jones did to Stipe, you just don't see it because the HWs are not very dynamic.
