Good movie i guess. But feel like they did a cheap money grab move by setting this in Gotham.

This felt nothing like a Batman Joker.

But i guess it brings in more viewers then if it was about a random guy who went crazy.

Still good acting for sure.

7/10

Has Phoenix ever actually stated he has a no-sequel policy, or is that what everyone just assumes?

Have you ever seen any of the movies Pattinson has done since Twilight? He's built up a phenomenal reputation and is now an incredibly well-respected actor.

He's a hack

This movie was pretty dumb. It literally a movie about a weird who gets bullied then kills some people. They just put him in the joker costume and call him the joker.

Same as in The Dark Knight, but no one seemed to mind.

Maybe if Joaquin overdoses.........

But I don't see how this Joker could possibly be a future Batman antagonist, though I'm sure they'll try.

huh how is that the same as the dark knight? I don't remember Joker being bullied in that movie. In fact Joker was bullying everyone in that movie from Batman, all the city gangs, and even his own men. Even when you tried to Bully him he was still in control.

As in it wasn't much like the traditional Joker....a different character in the Joker costume.

He means that he thinks joker in dark knight is just some anarchist terrorist that they dressed as and called the joker, even though there have been almost 80 years of joker comics as well as several film, tv and other adaptations with all sorts of different interpretations of the character.

Ah ok. Can't disagree there cause I really don't know what the traditional Joker was like to begin with.

People are basing their opinions on their own idea of the characters anyway. What I love about comics is the variety of characterizations between writers/artists. Like, Frank Miller's version of Batman is my default Batman, and he's very different from Grant Morrison's version. I'm all for multiple concurrent iterations.

Ahh yes

The Go-to criticism of neckbeard tryhards

"This isn't the real Joker" Like they even know what the real Joker is

I could see this movie being titled “incel” and have no joker costume or face paint attached and it would have worked.

Maybe add in 10-20 mins of Phoenix talking shit about women on Internet forums though...

Characters evolve through comics and other media all the time. There’s several different versions of the character in comics. There’s no true version. All there is is the creators interpretation of a character for a specific project.

“Comic accuracy” dorks are the most annoying. Most of the time they are very selective in where they decide to voice their outrage about comic accuracy. It’s especially dumb when you know barely any of them even read comics.
