Phoenix is the perfect actor to play Joker. He has that kind of psycho vibe anyway . Hes always been a great actor anyway. I just doubt he would really do a follow up flick to this

So in other words he's the best Dark Phoenix
We got yet?

Small request, and I know I'm being a bit of a dumb ass here, for checking into a thread discussing the movie, but can we all agree to "SPOILER" finer points of the movie, at least for the first week of its release? Come October 11th, have at it, and I will not whinge over it.
I'd just stay out of the thread bub

I know, I know, but c'mon! These sneak preview guys are too quick to jump the gun. I want to come into this thread and see benign reviews, describing nothing but atmosphere, and color pallets. It's not too much to ask...well, maybe it is.

I'll go now.

I think hes adequate, but Willem Dafoe shouldve had the Joker role from the starr.
Dafoe would be good fit. But hes too old to play the origin story n Phoenix is just a better actor I think for role. Jmo

@Dragonlordxxxxx

I gotta give this 2 different ratings

The Movie for me gets a 7

Phoenix though is easily a 9 or 10

The Plot felt straight forward , it does a good job of making you feel pity for the Main Character especially when he runs into assholes but that's mostly for me because Phoenix is so damn good. I found myself making guesses about what would happen next and was right on the money I just felt like that was too easy and also the other actors just kinda went through the motions and were just watching Phoenix command the screen.

There is laughing and killing.

JP the consummate method actor IMO.
chooses scripts selectively and with purpose and then nails it.

very sad that DDL is apparently done doing the same.
GOAT dramatic actor.

This makes me wonder- has there ever been a villain in superhero comics that's a :eek::eek::eek:phile? Even when they want to emphasize how bad a villain is, this is a line they never cross- at least with recurring characters. I know Spiderman, Punisher and Daredevil have occasional run-ins with street-level :eek::eek::eek:s, but they're just one-off randoms. What about someone like Bullseye or Green Goblin raping kids. The Red Skull literally kills babies, but even he would never be depicted as a :eek::eek::eek:.

The first story arc of Spawn involved him hunting down a :eek::eek::eek::eek:phile serial killer. He lured kids into an ice cream van that played a tune,

"You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream!"

Spawn strung him up by chains and rammed ice cream scoops into his body. He left a note attached to the corpse,

Boys screamed and girls screamed
So I made him scream. And scream. And scream...

Seconded!

Just saw it and what a performance by Joaquin Phoenix. Just splendid.

The end of the movie after the movies constantly built up tension and finally has him truly become the Joker is great. Phoenix is fucking amazing.
I'm not sure how I liked his connection to the Waynes. It was well done but it was also the most obvious choice for the filmmakers to make.
The batman thing has been done to death so I partially hoped they'd go a different direction.

But I liked how they made the Waynes look less than saintly.

Movie over did it with how much reading characters do. Same for the slow mo dancing.

I wish Bryan Callen had more lines.

Good movie that could have been great with a more capable director

Some funky music choices that I thought felt out of place

Ending was badass

I’m depressed that we don’t get this Batman universe. Fuck Matt Reeves.

"You've always been good to me"

*kisses forehead*

Amazing, LOL.
