Crime John Bolton indicted on 18 counts.

The administration knows they most likely will not secure a conviction, but that isn't the point. It's the same with Comey. They just want to inconvenience and shame them. It's pretty obvious that the DOJ is being weaponized, and it may backfire.
You do realize the Biden Admin started going after Bolton? But of course you want to make this about Orange man bad because your TDS compels you to do so.

There's no doubt that among Trump's political prosecutions, this is one of the stronger cases. But with that said:

1) Every administration conducts investigations. It doesn't mean Biden's admin was planning on charging Bolton.

2) If we compare Bolton's case with historical examples, history suggests the conclusion to this case will be an anti-climactic plea bargain, where Bolton pleads guilty to misdemeanors and serves zero jail time.

Good, no one should be shedding any tears for John Bolton.

This is just weird because if the DOJ believes that Bolton belongs in jail for this then it just reinforces the idea that Trump should be in there with him.

What Trump did was actually worse because he lied to the government and tried to hide the documents so they can actually prove intent. If the DOJ's position is that Bolton broke the law then they are quite literally saying that the rules don't apply to Trump (and not that what did was legal).

surely none of you actually feel bad about this black hole of a human being possibly going to jail.
it's just performative horseshit.
No, but some of us were around and paid attention in the early 2000s. Deserved? Probably. Timely? Eh...

Trump's administration going after Bush Jr's is prequel to Obama's, and everyone else who acted under the guidance of the POTUS.

He's setting a tone for the next admin to do the opposite but stronger.

It's a bad precedent to set. Because foresight is foggy.

He's setting a tone for the next admin to go ham.
trump will probably give out a quadrillion pardons when he leaves, so there's probably going to be like 10 people in america that can be brought to justice after that.

the justice project in America is over. it's just a political show now.
it's going to be the same in europe as well soon, i ain't excluding us from that.

As funny as this is, I somehow see Trump on his deathbed legit pardoning everyone just for the chaos/fun.

Probably just failed to bow low enough to the emperor.

Leftists will burn down cities and murder people and then be like "trump is only mean to us because he's arrogant".

Idiotic and arrogant, deluded and ridiculous. Brainwashed and worse than useless, an actual detriment to any country they are in, the leftist.

Lol imagine pigeonholing people like this and lacking the self awareness to label others as brainwashed

This, the amount of pardons we are going to see from Trump at the end of his 2nd term is going to be insane. And i don't like Trump at all, BUT WHY WOULDNT HE? Its there, used by many previous presidents to stop "political persecution" He would be an idiot not to do so.

Yea. The trial won't even begin until mid 2026 probably.

Once Trump gets bored, and the DOJ realizes that proving mens rea to a jury will be difficult, I think they will offer him a plea deal for some misdemeanors with maybe 1 year of probation and loss of security clearance now and in the future. Trump will tout it as a big victory, but Bolton will suffer no major hardship other than his legal fees. But I'm sure he can afford it.

Sadly I don't think Trump's political prosecutions will backfire for him. I think they will continue, and the lawyers that bring these cases on his behalf will ultimately suffer in their careers long-term.
people need to figure out that if you go after trump he’s coming back at you. why is this shocking? you beg for the spotlight and you get it

One (of many reasons) Biden was criticized for the prophylactic pardons he handed out on his way out the door is that they didn't do much.

If a competent malicious president wants to get you, all he has to do is lean on state officials to generate state charges.
