You've got the former HW champ who decided to retire because he didn't want to fight the interim guy, and you've got the current LHW champ who wants to move up, but doesn't want to face the current HW champ. They should both be told to fuck off, or if they really want to do it they can but get paid the bare minimum for doing so as it does nothing for the divisions (and only holds up the LHW division as Pereira will likely want to go back down if he's not willing to fight Tom).

I'd rather either of them fight Aspinall for the belt.

This convinces me they will do it. That way the UFC has a "Three Division Champion" either way and then they will never book another legit fight at that weight class and close it. They did it with Amanda at FW so there is precedent.

Really? Cyborg lost the FW belt to Amanda Dec 2018. Amanda last fought June 10 2023. Amanda was touted as a 2 division champion all the way to the end. Even when there was no FWs on the roster the UFC had her on their site as a FW champion with no top 10 rankings despite all other divisions having a top 10. That's my point.
