Joe Rogan: Jon Jones-Alex Pereira Would Be 'Biggest Fight in Human History'

Joe Rogan is rooting for a matchup between Jon Jones (28-1) and Alex Pereira (13-3).

Rogan believes Jones and Pereira should fight at UFC White House in June 2026. Rogan suggested a catchweight matchup between the two with some sort of a BMF title on the line. Rogan believes the matchup would be the greatest in the history of combat sports.

“The big money fight is Alex and Jon Jones at the White House… Catchweight, make it 225 [pounds]. It doesn’t have to be for a title. “Make it Bad Motherf—-er upper edition,” Rogan said on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

“The Jon Jones-Alex Pereira fight would probably be the biggest fight in human history… As a matchup, you got the greatest of all time in Jon Jones. And arguably the most destructive striker that has ever competed: ‘Poatan.’”

Could Stars Align for a Jones-Pereira White House Fight?

When Jones was the UFC heavyweight champ, he refused to fight interim champ Tom Aspinall. “Bones” even reportedly agreed to the matchup for a huge payday but backed out later. Jones finally retired earlier this year, and Aspinall was promoted to undisputed champion. President Donald Trump announced plans for UFC White House just weeks after Jones’ retirement. Jones immediately returned to the drug testing pool and has since been rallying for a slot on the White House card. While Dana White didn’t entirely dismiss the idea, he hasn’t sounded very enthusiastic about Jones returning at the White House.

Actually, Conor vs Jones would be. Open weight

Not a bad person to lose to for your third official loss

Jon Jones retired, if he comes back he should be forced to fight the man he ran from.
Agree, but that is not how it will work out if there is more money to be made by booking Poatan instead of Tom. Sucks for Tom. Sucks for fans.

I love Rogan, but I'm gonna have to disagree with him on this one. It wouldn't even be a championship fight. It'll sell, but it will be meaningless and hardly one of the greatest fights of all time.

What an embarrassing thing to say. It's not even the top fight in MMA history, not even close.

And when you compare it to sports like boxing/kickboxing that have towering achievements of over a century of fights?

If Rogan actually had any credibility to lose, this statement would lose a lot of it. But he had none to begin with, so it's irrelevant.
MMA for me it was prolly Fedor x CroCop.

Well no, but it’s a big fight. Go back to talking about chimps and DMT Joe

I'd watch the shit out of it but he's wrong. Geez his commentary is shit these days, every sub attempt is "locked in" and every calf kick is basically a shotgun to the leg.

Just saying like 10 billion people have heard of David vs goliath... Achilles vs Hector is up there as well.. Joe Rogan needs to look at history jeez

Is this like the Rhonda once in HUMAN HISTORY type of big?

God no!!! 205+ is terrible enough without diluting it further
This convinces me they will do it. That way the UFC has a "Three Division Champion" either way and then they will never book another legit fight at that weight class and close it. They did it with Amanda at FW so there is precedent.

biggest mma fight? definitely not close to the biggest boxing fights.

Meh. Not if it's not for a belt. I think jones picograms him to death anyway.
