Don't get me wrong, I want some fresh blood in the top three weight classes as much as anyone, but to assume some elite wrestler is going to be a top fighter? He fought a couplle shit guys on the regional scene and it doesn't give me a lot of hope. It wouldn't be the first time we've seen top guys from other sports fail to translate to MMA at a high level.

I feel like any MMA fan should know that credentials don't mean shit until those credentials are applied.

I try not to shit on Romero cuz he was old, but he's one of the most credentialed wrestlers in modern MMA, and his MMA wrestling stats were bang average. And GSP having no wrestling credentials when he started, only to become one of (if not the) best MMA wrestlers of all time, should just go to show every hopeful fan to take their hope and put it in the back of the fridge and we'll see later on if it has spoiled

He's got really fast hands and a great vertical leap.

The obvious questions are:

A) how does he react to getting hit clean

B) how is his defense in general

and

C) can he even land on a good boxer or at least protect his head well enough on his way into shots and clinches

Beyond that, I'd like to see him hitting flying knees at hw.

Heavyweight is the one division where its a throwback to UFC 1. literally any big wrestler can come in and dominate like Brock and Gable.
