Media Jiri on rumored Alex Pereira matchup: ""I will win. Decisively. Knockout, choke, whatever."

I think Jiri is overrated too. I prefer him as a champion, but the Brazilian is more focused.

Amazing fight. Hope it happens! I'm still trying to analyze how their styles mix. On paper Alex has the striking pedigree but Jiri is so awkward and unconventional.

One thing is guaranteed is this fight not going to the scorecards

Jiri gets hit too much. I know he's a zombie but you can take shots from Alex and keep standing

Lets go Jiri. Alex is a beast. Hard to make a better match up. Some fights get the hair on the back fo youre neck to stand up. This would be one of those fights.

This is an easy fight for Alex.
Let’s not forget that Jan has good checks for leg kicks.
Jiri doesn’t have this. Four leg kicks of Alex and he will struggle to move.
Jiri is also reckless.

If glover was hurting jiri its going to be a quick night for jiri

This is a style nightmare for Jiri. He get's KO'd in round 1.

You cant fight that style against a striker like Alex + His wrestling isnt good enough to get Alex down.
I dont know bro, he has ko'd almost everyone he has fought and is the naturally bigger man. He could never make mw

Alex is bigger than Jiri. Jiri has said before that he weighs between 216-218 lbs on fight night, that's lighter than Alex by a quite a bit.

Jiri is the Diego Sanchez of the LHW division, he comes in with heart and can pull of an upset no matter who it is.

Jiri will be so so much faster than Alex but is obviously open to the counter. Jan was also extremely open to getting countered but did not look in danger for the whole fight. My gut says Jiri via TKO.

Jan got stunned multiple times and resorted to panic wrestling (wisely, not criticizing him for it) when he got tagged.

This is after Alex spent an entire round on bottom getting laid on at altitude. Jan was in obvious danger despite all that.

Jiri is not a particularly skilled wrestler and tends to get hit a lot in his very fun, very interesting fights. If anything this is one of the most intriguing match-ups in the top of the division. Alex won't contend with someone shooting a double literally at the bell and Jiri will welcome a wild kickboxing fight.

I'm not sure what the word is on Jiri's shoulder, but if he's back at 100% I might marginally favor him 60/40.

I think the longer Alex is at 205 the more dangerous he's going to get. I feel like Jiri gets wild, and becomes very easy to hit. Not great against a guy like Alex.

Wut.
He hung with and submitted old Glover.
If he wants to he can choke out Alex.
If he stands.....well precision usually beats chaos so that might be a bad idea.

Jiri's only problem is how hittable he is. He's a berserker, that's usually not a great matchup for them against a precision guy
Crap, I just said the same thing.....
Yea, I always say precision usually beats chaos. Like say Ankalaev vs Johnny Walker. But usually I'm rooting for the berserker.

I think Jiri will get him down a couple times and even the advantage that Pereira has in the standup. I expect them to trade too. Should definitely be a war, both guys have that warrior heart.

If this fight gets made this year Alex will have fought 7 times in just over 2 years. Including only taking 3 months after a flatline KO.

He will also have fought Desanya, Jan, Jiri in the same calender year.

I respect that man's schedule.
Kickboxers are used to fight frequently. Mma fighters used to be like that in the past, but “proper fight camps” and Usada slowed them down.
