This is so stupid... why would you put someone who has not fought the champion, in an eliminator against someone who has already been finished by him twice?
Ank and Ulberg and maybe Azamat if he can keep winning, are the only really relevant guys left for him to fight other than Poatan. So if he loses to Poatan again ( IF he loses ) then he still has profitable fights left with those guys.
Jiri wasn't replacing anyone, so he got the same notice Alex got both times, and the first fight was announced nearly 2 months beforehand, so it wasn't exactly last minute.

He took the fights injured. Everyone's hurting. Welcome to MMA.
Not truth at all... first fight was basically gift for Poatan. Jiri was 10 months after injury 0 sparring and 1-2 trainings in and he had to accept fight with Poatan after Hill injured and vacated. BTW Jiri was in iceland for 14 days recording some sponsor stuff at the moment aswell. Second fight was absolute mistake and stupidity, iam not competent enough to share what was reportedly going behind screen, but no wonder that fight ended up like it did...
Anyways we can play this "tug of war" of "does he deserve it or not" all day and we will not come to agreement.

"Had to." Again, choosing to fight injured is what all fighters do and being injured doesn't give them some allowance for do-overs. Also, he was injured in November, had an expected recovery time of 6 months to a year, and the fight was a year later.
So? What's your point?
He sounds excited to go. It sounds like you're saying he made multiple mistakes: agreeing to a fight when he was injured, wasn't physically ready to train; and wasn't even home to start training, so therefore, his own decisions cut into the time he was given to prepare?
Ah, so both fights were Jiri mistakes. That's great and all, and I actually do believe you, that it is a good excuse for why we can both feel he would perform better. But you seem to think it's also a valid excuse for accelerating another rematch. It's not.
I've reached plenty of compromises with people who have reason on this site. So yeah, I agree that we will not be agreeing any time soon. At least on anything Jiri related.

Yeah, we know.

Also yeah, Jiri was excited, same as he would be excited to do anything crazy. Add up fact that everyone, including me, underrated Poatan at the time...and Jiri was dumb enough to not fully use his grappling. Which u are correct, doesn't matter. Poatan both fights won fairly and deserve all praise for it.
Anyway thats not reason why Jiri deserves 3rd fight / title shot. The reason is that he beaten 2 top 5 fighters in row. + Ulberg had opportunity to be one of those fights aswell... on his home soil, instead chose to take "easier" opponent.
BTW, only one who can realistically deny Jiri 3rd fight atm is Poatan himself. Like if he says that he doesn't see reson for 3rd fight and stays in LHW, then Jiri probably will have to clean up top 5 again / go for "superfight" or move to MW/HW and win...and then maybe UFC will force Poatan into 3rd fight.
