Has he actually lied about it? I had always assumed he was in Nam so was surprised to find out he never saw combat. Not sure if he lied or mislead like Walz or possibly I just assumed it.

Like Walz, he was very vague about some things and never corrected those who assumed he was a Vietnam vet. He once called out hunters and said something like “until you’ve hunted a man, you haven’t hunted”, although he never even went to Vietnam.

Does it really matter? Guy served more time than most and moved on.

I don't think you can call being in the Guard "serving" in the same way we talk about active military. No offence to guard members - my son was Guard as well, but he did his tour in Iraq.

According the Trump

Ventura, Vance and Walz
are ALL
"suckers and losers" for serving.

Has anyone actually confirmed that story? I've only heard that the one (Miley mabe) confirmed that Trump said he didn't understand why they did it; never mentions the suckers and losers part.

I don’t think that it’s actually ever been confirmed. I’ve asked other posters for further proof as well. I’m not saying that it didn’t happen, but I would think if he actually said that more people would’ve come forward to corroborate the story. I know that John F. Kelly said he heard trump make similar remarks, but he’s a documented liar himself—so who knows.

If Kamala Harris gets into office there will be war. She is a empty vessel that will do whatever the military industry complex and donor class tell her.
LOL @ the irony of a vacuous twat who spews whatever stupid right wing garbage that comes into his feed saying someone else is an empty vessel.

I'd say the use of the term "accused" means nothing was proven and it's just an accusation.

Bull he knew he was going to be shipped out. You know you are up for it a long time before it happens and you get official orders. I don't care if he bailed plenty of them did. The only thing he is being held accountable for is lying about shit.

Weekend warriors get shit from every other service but that's normal. It make it worse when ypu lie about shit.
This. We know about a year and a half in advance our Guard unit was up for an elation to Afghanistan. Lots of politics in the Guard world and our Colonel was doing everything possible on that timeframe to ensure we would go.

We hadn’t gotten orders but everyone high up knew it was coming. He 100% knew and bailed out.

He then goes on to state he deployed in support of OEF and talks vaguely enough that people who didn’t know a thing about the military would think he went to Afghanistan.

I don't think it's fair to criticize him for retiring. So far there's no proof he did it to avoid deploying to Iraq.
He deserves criticism for claiming to be in war and endorsing books that claimed service in Afghanistan when his only deployment was in Italy. He doesn't even rate the GWOT E and there's no proof he was even issued a weapon.

Edit: And before some ignorant poster brings up the GWOT Service again - that was awarded automatically to everyone 30 days after completing boot camp and MOS training retroactive to 9/11/01. Just like the National Defense.
