I would bet misclassifying them might not be uncommon. But jails are not typically going to announce to the local news every time a prisoner dies.

every in-custody death gets a full ME investigation, even if they have a PCP willing to sign off on a death certificate for natural causes. If not, then something is unusual.

I would assume they don't just get installed without a proper protocol on maintenance and making sure it's operable.
Otherwise what's the point of having them if you're not going to use or take care of them?

How often are they checked to make sure they are working. Who monitors the camera feed. Did this person know the camera was not working? Why not? Did this person put in an IT ticket for it to get fixed? When?

Also, seems the consensus is the Maxwell In and Out Burger picture was shooped.

And @SleepyBoy I dont know what the setup there is but dont these systems have a main screen with all the camera views displayed? You would think it would visually obvious.

In a jail one may think there is even an alarm or warning system alerting personnel to a malfunctioning camera.

I've repeated that these major questions below are the ones that need to be answered by this investigation. We can only hope that the investigation proceeds in earnest and is not just being allowed to disappear in the Trump news cycles like so many other issues where they announce at first they will do something, while citizens are looking but as soon as the citizens move on they drop it.

There is no reason I can see why at least a generic comment about the CCTV camera's would not have been released like 'they were all operating properly and once reviewed a report will be forthcoming' and I find it concerning that nothing like that has been announced. And so we wait...

- why was he taken off suicide watch? Who made that call? Did it follow protocol?
- Protocol calls for an inmate coming off suicide watch to have a low risk cell mate for a period time post the attempt. The claim is he had one assigned but that person had a last minute transfer order and they decided to go thru with the transfer leaving Epstein alone. Who made that call? Prior protocol is reported to be that any such transfers would be delayed until the new cell mate was put in place. Someone over-rode that. How common is that departure? How often would that happen?
- Protocol was that guards should patrol and put eyes on him at a minimum, every 30 minutes (?). On that evening the rounds were not happening. How often would that departure happen?
- he revised his Will two days before his suicide. It is protocol that the Prisons, if aware of that, consider that a key indicator that a person may attempt suicide soon. Were they aware? Did they follow protocol?
- there is CCTV all thru the prison and yet nothing has been reported about what was captured. Why? Were they all operable? Was there any divergence from what is the norm there?


So as you can see pretty much every issue before the M.E report still exists and remains unanswered even this far into what should be a open investigation.

Don't know, but broken cameras are a pretty common feature in deliberate indifference cases (which include failure to protect and failure to provide medical care).

Yeah that's the way to approach that if you want to find what's true, rather than just pointing at the cameras like a monkey and hooting as people tend to do (especially in the days after 9/11 troof saturation). If the cameras were not operational before Epstein was there, then it's a dead end as far as CTs go (you have to start adding facts not in evidence to pursue it further). On the other hand, if the cameras were suddenly out of order, that would be the first bit of circumstantial evidence that, by itself, would possibly be more indicative of a conspiracy than not (other circumstantial evidence either fits multiple explanations or is better explained by the obvious, simple explanation that he was suicidal and killed himself). Not holding my breath.

Agreed.

But of course it could be that the camera's are typically on and would capture all the coming and goings in his areas but unfortunately just a few hours or days earlier the camera system for that area malfunctioned and where slated for repair. A coincidence is feasible and possible. i won't rule it out.

No coincidence of and by itself is proof of conspiracy or cover up.

Not even a confluence of multiple coincidences all required to happen within the same window is proof.

But that said, the more layers of coincidence required, the more they would need to all happen within the same window, the more doubt one should rightly have and the more they should then push for other substantiating information.

I touch on that above as its certainly possible that Barr is pulling a Trump here.

Immediately after the mass shooting and while citizens are raging you tell them 'I will push through meaningful changes' to placate he masses and quiet the out cry, but then as soon as the news cycle moves on so does Trump forgetting about the promise.

If Barr simply moves on as less people focus on Epstein and now focus on other news, then that would be very disconcerting.

Barr really should have recused himself here for multiple reasons that could make one think his objectivity could potentially be challenged.
