In fairness, these people wouldn't necessarily give a shit if some average Joes "figured it out". Not like there's anything they can do about it.

The guy is dead, and he's never going to say another word again. The case is closed. To a lot of people, a lot of rather powerful people, that's a huge relief. Except a high profile inmate managing to commit suicide while under watch after a previous attempt to take his own life is not the most likely explanation. It requires an incredible lack of professionalism by whoever was responsible for watching Epstein.
