I wouldn’t be surprised if Barr’s anger stems from losing out on an opportunity of a life time. To get the dirt on a number of influential people and agree to stay quite for their protection and of course whatever the fuck he wants.

Trump fans like to point out how Barr was outraged on behalf of the POTUS and how now, he is going to get to the bottom of it by investigating the investigators.

I am pretty sure @Fawlty knows that is Barr's way of trying to provide cover to the POTUS and release new findings just prior to the next election to that end.

So such 100% unassailable confidence that Barr, THIS TIME, will only do the right thing no matter where an investigation may lead and what it finds, is misplaced, at a minimum, IMO.

I fully expect that if the investigation lead to condemnations of anyone on Trump's enemy list Barr would 100% chase it up, expose them and charge them. We would get full disclosure. But if anything leads to Trump I have no such confidence. If it simply leads to just a big confluence of f*ck up by the DOJ and the Prisons and ultimately his gov't and its budget cuts, I am not sure Barr does not point the finger elsewhere.

If there was good reason to suspect Trump would be implicated here then I would agree that Barr's involvement could be an issue. I think that's a much better point. Still, the information that has come out about Trump more recently (despite the suspicion that has hung over their relationship) is that he distanced himself from Epstein a long time ago and wasn't a Lolita frequent flier. I'm only aware of one person implicating him in crimes with Epstein, and she is the one who tried to sell her story to a scummy former Jerry Springer producer, and there are lots of issues with her case. Barr is also backing Geoffrey Berman the SDNY federal prosecutor, in continuing the criminal investigation despite Epstein's death.

It looks very on the up-and-up.

The NYtimes were calling him Cover-up Barr and the lead prosecutor James J. Brosnahan said if you want a cover-up Barr is your guy. If you don't know who James J. Brosnahan is google him he is an impressive individual.

It was hanging in his New York mansion, the largest private residence in the city. It wasn't even in a private room either. Apparently it was in a room to the right of the main entrance.

He lied to Congress already in defense of Trump. That is proven and not in dispute.

So this is not just a general 'conflicts exist' theoretical in which case I would agree. They all have levels of conflict. This is a man who is a proven liar when it comes to protecting his POTUS who is a least a tangential target of the investigation, the extent of which is largely unknown.

yes I know that. He is partisan first and foremost.

He can do a good job and be effective as long as what he is doing does not lead to Republican targets. It could easily be a painting that shows how close and friendly he and Bill were. The kind of 'busting a buddies balls' type thing to do, when you think no one outside your circle will see it. I would do something like that with my best buddies if they ever decided to dress up like that for a laugh. Grab a pic and blow it up. Sure.

It's more he didn't see a problem with Iran-Contra, Israel was getting arms of the US then sending them to Iran for money. Drug running into the U.S. as well,
