No Jake gets no credit for being kinda decent about that. What did he think would happen? You could tell by round 3 Jake New he made a mistake and knew this fight should've never happened.
Mike had no legs after round 2. The decent thing would've been picking someone that has fought professionally in the last 18 years. Instead he created another freak show that fans were all hyped up for only to have to carry Mike cuz knocking him out would've made him look like a bigger douche.

To make it worse, they couldn’t tell Jake was clearly holding back against Mike. Make no mistake about it, this was a 16 minute fight and Jake has fought 30 minutes against much less shot fighters. He had Mike hurt a few times, exhausted him, and could have clearly stopped him whenever he pleased.

People who thought Mike would win and/or couldn’t tell Jake carried him, have little business talking boxing. Mike sucked 20 years ago….TWENTY.

I was in grade 11 when Tyson fought Lewis. A large group of my friends got together to pool our money and buy the PPV. It was disappointing, Mike had clearly lost his killer instinct and speed. That was 22 years ago.

I cannot believe so many people were picking Mike last night. There’s a reason boxing commissions treat fighters over age 35 as “old” and require additional medical and other hoops to be jumped through to allow them to compete.

Frankly I can’t believe Texas sanctioned this fight to begin with. Pretty shameful imo.

Tyson cultist here to say I agree. I didn’t expect much from a 58 year old man but I had hoped the fight would be more violent. Jake carried him and it was sad to see. What a dumb fight. Father Time is undefeated.

Seeing Mike's training it was obvious he was done. Reminded me of seeing Chuck training for Tito 3. If it wasn't obvious then, it was during the walk to the ring. Tyson looked like he almost fell over and was walking like Biden. Guy had no legs whatsoever. Joke of a fight but I give Jake a tiny bit of credit for not commiting full on elder abuse.
