really don't know what to think of that shit. I could only say i've seen 50 year olds on street beefs who fought harder, I've seen 80 years olds who did more in sparring on youtube. I also said honestly that a couple winos would fight harder for a 40 ounce than that.Don't give me that "almost 60" bullshit.
I just turned 60, and would've done better than that.
In a real fight, the combatants try to HURT each other.
If someone paid me millions of dollars to fight, I would rather get KO'd while trying to fugg somebody up, than passively flail around.
I turned this shit-show off and went to sleep.
I can't unsee this bullshit, and my opinion of Tyson is unrestorable.
This was not a real fight, with people trying to hurt each other, it was a farce with people trying to do the exact opposite.
Neither guy really threw anything. As out of shape as I am I could do more, it's not that hard to move your hands.Jake was breathing out his mouth at the end like me in my first sparring match. It's two guys who got in good shape and know how to werk the werk doen de werk to get them dijjey dollaroos.
he could have moved his hands without trying to kill him, i know he knows how to do that. But nooooo.Once he got in there and saw that Mike had nothing for him, he should have at least stood in front of him and traded for the last couple of rounds.
We don't really know, maybe Mike really is that far gone. that's why I wanted to see it, these are very unusual events and we don't really know what would happen. Why do people watch these pretend fights?
We already know they're pretend.
People on here are asking for MORE pretend fights.
That's a cool story. We don't really know, maybe Mike really is that far gone. that's why I wanted to see it, these are very unusual events and we don't really know what would happen.
It would not have shocked me if tyson came out and took Paul out with a haymaker. The stories I've heard of old, formerly great boxers border on the miraculous. I knew a guy who met Henry Armstrong in a bar, probably around the late 50's early 60's. He said Henry told him who he was and the guy didn't believe it so Henry invited him outside, not for a fight, just for a little friendly moving and clinching. So, he goes out there and they play. He told me Henry still had it, he couldnt' do anything to him, Henry would spin him off and around and I got the impression that if it were a fight, he wouldnt have thought he could win. Now, this guy was ammie boxer with lots of fights, 11 years of an ammie career, young, and he felt he could do nothing against an old man. Those are the kinds of stories that aren't uncommon in the sport.
Sounds interesting. Every gym I've been to feels like boxercise classes these daysNeither guy really threw anything. As out of shape as I am I could do more, it's not that hard to move your hands.
I watched something later last night that was time much better spent, Hardface, a docu about a boxing club with great nurturing trainers and good inner city kids all working from the heart, that's what the sport is really about. Great docu, loved it. I felt better after that. Those kids fought harder.
You think you would beat Jake Paul?
I really don't think Mike looked bad at all. He's 58 and clearly came in with some lower body injury. He actually looked pretty damn fast for the first round and a half, Jake predictably ran and Mike started to gas. His leg also started to act up it would seem. Even after the fact Mike slipped most of Jake's punches and the few that did land, Mike ate easily. I think the Tyson who fought Roy Jones would have beaten Jake to be honest, his mobility was a lot better in that fight.
Jake on the other hand, looked like shit. He didn't carry Mike, he just sucks. He ran away early because he was afraid that a 58 year old man might knock him out if he engaged, which there is a good chance he would have. Even after Mike gassed he couldn't hurt Mike he could barely even hit him for that matter. Jake Paul as a boxer is a joke. He's only beaten undersized past there prime MMA wrestlers in Woodley and Askren, Anderson Silva pushing 50, and Tyson pushing 60. He's not a serious boxer.
You know... I was going to shit-talk you for actually expecting a fight between a Youtuber and a cripple... but some of your points were valid, and then you went all in and showed some giant 60 year old TRT balls by posting those pics. You seem happy. You made me happy. I'd drink with you.
Ty amigo, lmfao.
He definitely looked nervous but once the bell rang he didn't look terrible all things considered imoWe disagree.
Tyson looked shook and every facial expression was weird and totally uncomfortable.
Wish I could unsee this farce.
It's great that you look like that at 60, but you're not doing eight 2 minute rounds with Jake Paul.
I've fought in master's division amateur boxing, and I know I couldn't do it even with training hard for months. You just don't keep your endurance as you age, even if you train regularly. And I do
Can I run circles around untrained 20-somethings? Yep. Can I keep up with young guys in sparring? Yep. Could I hang with a guy in his prime who trains full time alongside Olympic boxers. Nope
Check my post history.
This fight, holyfield-belfort were two of the easiest calls of all time.
And tyson stops irongolem in the opening stanza.
nice pics though looking good!
Were you a alcoholic and cocaine addict for the good part of 15 years and up untill this fight smoking weed everyday and doing copius amount of mushrooms.

Mike is unstable upstairs so might be everything we need to know but I'm not sure. For me, there was never a sufficient answer as to whether it was a real fight or an exhibition. My buddy told me years ago that I could beat Mike (after his lass pro loss). I'm nowhere near his size and I thought my buddy was just being fascetious but maybe he wasn't. Mike has had some hard times and some hard losses, those things do not really leave you. Hell, Roy Jones went overnight to being a superman to me watching him turning into someone who was cowering from Glen Johnson and a little later, one TV, shrinking away from average men on "Pros' VS Joes". Anyway you cut it, it's sad to see.
I mentioned how Ali was shot to pieces and still almost beat Berbick in his last fight (6-4 is a close fight) and I've seen footage of him whipping on a current regional champ in sparring around 83. We all know Ali was past done, even he was still able to take care of himself against a lower ranked fighter.
