It's October... Halloween/Horror Movies

Another one I've yet to see

There arent that many good horror movies, and imo this is one of the better ones. Check it out.

One of cusacks best perfmances imo, and samuel l even has some screentime

post 1990 it is a real struggle to find great horror, considering how bombarded we were for the previous two decades

.

True. 1408 feels more modern because it was made in 2007. It doesn't really rely on jump scares or special effects, its more about the story. It also has well known actors which can be rare for horror.

What did you think of it? It's a guilty pleasure of mine
I liked it. It had a lot of cheese like most B movies but it was very intentional. Kept it fun. The B movies of the 80’s are so much better than most of today’s.

Watched The House on Haunted Hill last night (1959). Carol Ohmart can get it.

I just watched 1408 again because of this thread. Im still blown away by Cusacks acting in a lotof scenes. He really sells the story.

Just noticed the candyman is up on Netflix gonna rewatch that one soon!
I need to rewatch it, I really enjoyed the first half but for some reason not the rest, but no idea why.

Ever watch Farewell To The Flesh? Never did myself

Hugh, youre the new horror movie thread.

And....

How in the fucking fuck do you guys quickly post images?!

Ok, well shit, i watched the horribly titled: The Monster

It starts out as a mother and daughter against each other. Mother is an addict, the kid is the adult, and they make a car road trip for the kid to be dropped off to the grandmother. A monster attacks on the way, they rekindle their bond flame as they battle the beast, end.

It is copied, yes, and the mom casting sucks. They really milk the crying parts. But i actually really like, not love, the setting! Its Cujo, but its night, on the road in the woods, and its raining. Its simple and its great! There is a monster and yea it looks unique, almost like a panther. I love that when they break down, the elements become a bit predictive, but welcoming.

Its flaws come from the conclusion. Not just the climax, but how it gets there, the 'happening' (hah!), and the last minutes. Its strung out and becomes TOO predictable, and unsatisfying. I suppose there is a "shock," but i didnt give a shit.

I give it a 6.5/10, maybr a 6 even as a horror.

I rate anything above 5 as something worth a look. Its on netflix.

Seriously, how the fuck do you post images easily from a phone?

Some older made for television movies that are quite scary.

Yeah I didn't dig Conjuring at all, cheap thrills for a throwaway generation

Have to disagree with y'all about The Conjuring. One of my favorite horror movies of all time. Last horror movie I watched that made me jump a few times.

I see why people may not like it though. Critics were raving about it like it was the second coming of The Exorcist so expectations were really high for those who hadn't seen it yet.

I like The Conjuring 2 as well

Don't even go there, took me years to figure it out and it still seems a lot of people can't see them.

In Google you can choose the share option, then copy to clip board, then come back here and paste it into the image box

But there has to be an easier way, someone hook us up?

Luckily I mostly use a desktop so it's no issue

Salem's Lot & Night Stalker are fantastic, I love the Kolchak movies & TV series, I picked up the full series on DVD recently and can't wait to watch them (one day)

Troll Hunter is good fun as well

That's fair enough, I never front on someone else's movie choices, I watch no end of shit that would have people pointing and laughing at me if I had the audacity to step inside the 'Serious Movies' thread

plus I have a thing for Vera
