It took 1.5 rounds for Jan to make Ankalaev do the stanky leg

I already explained why I thought the round was close enough to give it to Jan. He has two
minutes of control time and landed more head strikes. That makes the round arguably his. Jan arguably won the Alex fight. I’m not going back and forth over this.
Yes and I gave a detailed statistical breakdown and PBP of the round showing you exactly why you're wrong as you're the only person to ever argue giving him the second round and obviously dont know the scoring criteria of our sport, but you live your life how you do, big dog, its a free world.

Will be interesting to see how quickly Ank turns into a “panic wrestler.”
We can probably all agree that he’s not going to be able to deal well with Poatan’s leg kicks.

Those kicks won’t be able to have too much effect if the champ gets taken off his feet.

Hopefully Ankalaev doesn’t run into a knee shooting from a bad position; and Poatan has learned the lesson about overextending that Izzy provided.

Really to be Ank just seems like he's naturally a quite conservative fighter, doesn't like to go in there with an aggressive game plan but rather slowly build dominant and take a finish if its on offer.

I have a feeing his gameplan maybe to try and stay reasonably competitive standing but try to get the odd takedown and steal rounds hoping the judges favour that.

Alex doesnt generally seem to be that wreckless to me, he got a bit over aggressive against Izzy but honestly I think the key thing there is that second punch Izzy lands, its just freakishly good, that wide and powerful but also laser arcuate.

Jan will 100% be one of those guys more people appreciate when he retires. Polish Power always comes to bang. Ulberg has his hands full if he thinks Jan will be like his other fights.

Don't make me post the takedown stats again
<lol>

Except for in the snoozefest against Ank.

Right on, re Ankalaev’s gameplan.
To clarify, I’m wondering how he’s going to react once Poatan starts putting the challenger’s calf to sleep.

FWIW I before the final Izzy fight, I called that Poatan could very likely lose due to being overzealous against the more technically refined “martial artist;” especially if he smelled a potential finish early.
After 2 stoppages in 3 wins, I (+/-) expected that it was a strong possibility.
I also said that it was the only way that Izzy was winning that one.

I do suspect though Izzy would struggle to throw a punch that good again, thats one of the best single punches in MMA history IMHO.

your detailed breakdown is far from absolute. Jan arguably won the fight, deal with it. I never even said Jan outright won. I just said the fight was close, and it was. With different judges the fight could have gone the other way. It doesn’t matter how much you try and pretend otherwise.

He is highly technical.
He was fresh albeit stunned.
He wouldn't be landing that punch in the 4th, though.
