Iran means a lot to the CCP because they’re a big supplier of cheap oil. A big chunk of belt and road is getting oil through land routes that won’t be blockaded the same way it can be through sea.

They also mean a lot in the sense that all the trashcanistan countries like Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, etc care about each other. That is to say that they’re all dictatorships that oppose the US, and they don’t want to see any bad precedents being set like forced regime change.

Last 2 pieces of the puzzle are the USS Nimitz battle group which is currently in the Malacca Straits and the nuclear "sniffer" plane that's flying over the mid-west US. Assuming Nimitz does about 20 knots so its escorts don't run out of fuel, it will arrive in the area in about 5 days. I think that's about as early as they can start something big unless they're willing to send in the B-2s by themselves.

I don't think the US is going to join Israel in this conflict. If it does, it will have to deal with Russia, China, and North Korea.

China, India, the US, and most of Europe would hate Pakistan, not to mention Iran and Saudi Arabia for double dealing. If you're going to sell nukes, it doesn't make sense to sell to both sides of a conflict, that's pure stupidity.

That's not even getting into the fact that Pakistan needs the IMF to bail its finances out, and guess who has the largest share of votes there?
