60% chance the US joins in imo.
Israel having neutered them already makes things alot simpler

Very little chance of 'boots on the ground.'
Trump's three biggest promises during the 2024 campaign were...
*A vibrant economy.
*Fixing the border & illegal immigration.
*No new wars.

And the events of the last week seems to make it tempting to make major compromises with two of those promises, but at best Trump will only aid Israel in a support role like sharing intelligence, defensive anti-missle aid, and refueling Israel's jets mid-air.

Israel has done an excellent job so far, so why would they need us to help finish the job?

so it went from "no new wars" to "ok, we will help israel by providing them everything necessary to start a new war"
you know what the next step is and its going to happen because Trump gives zero fucks about Iran or promises he made during his campaign - its his last term anyway, whats he got to lose?

He wants to project an image of a powerful leader (his role models being Putin, Netanyahu & Kim) and easiest way to do so is to overrun already weakened Iran, just like bush jr. did with Iraq

Israel would like nothing more than for US to step in, because that would mean Iran would have to stop bombarding Israel with missiles/drones and deal with US troops in its own country.
Israel cannot finish the job on its own just by bombarding Iran from air (+ that costs shitload of money and results in Iran retaliating).

His history of posts

He doesn't care about human suffering in general

He never says anything when the suffering is on one side. Or the occasional fake token comment and back into vilifying one side.

What I despise about such people is they pretend to be the ones with human compassion when in reality they are just as bad as people on the other side of the argument to them except their hatred is directed in the opposite direction.

It's fine, be racist and full of hate. Just own it and don't try and occupy some false moral high ground.

The left in the UK have a long and disgusting history of anti semitism and sivers posting history demonstrates he is the stereotypical type for this.

Be a horrible hate filled bigot. Just be honest about what you are.
Hating Israel doesn t mean hating Jews

Boots on the ground would be a terrible idea so surely they won't be that stupid. Look at the topography of Iran it would be a nightmare like Afghanistan

the logistic of a ground invasion of Iran are actually pretty difficult when studied properly, FTR.

It would be a very different prospect to invading Iraq, Because Geography.

There's a decent youtube video out there explaining the inherent difficulties and limitations

What do you mean 'if they want regime change?'

The neocons have openly stated they want regime change in Iran since before 9/11.

Yet they don’t have a solution at all for actual regime change, is my point. I haven’t heard a single solution for regime change in Iran.

difficult topography didn't stop you from invading Afghanistan

Trump’s about to get us into a new forever war, and Congressional dems, with very few exceptions, don't have a goddamn thing to say. Obviously the Republicans are cowtowing to him, but the opposition party is supposed to, y'know, oppose dangerous and illegal shit like this. Primaries next year need to be an absolute bloodbath for incumbent dems.
You must be new to US foreign politics in the middle east

That’s how Neo Cons like to paint any criticism towards Israel. Instead of focusing on the fact Israel can be an asshole, they call you an anti-Semite. It is lazy and used for distraction.
Go look at members of Congress who fly Israeli flags outside their office. The House of Saud has followed Israel’s lead and figured out it’s easier just to buy Congress or the current President to get what you want out of America.
The House of Saud, hates Iran because of religious reasons and Israel is playing nice with the House of Saud because the enemy of my enemy is my friend. So now America is getting dragged into a religious war that neither side is right and just in their reasoning for war.
I think Iran and Israel are assholes, actually I feel like almost every country in the Middle East is an asshole. If I stood in the middle of the Middle East, I would feel like Dark Helmet in Spaceballs, surrounded by assholes.

How are they less of a threat to the region when they fund and arm terrorists.. you know, the kind that cause terror in the region? Hello?

Iran is not some saintly country that is just getting picked on. Their hands are just as dirty here as Israel’s. I wish people would stop being delusional about them.
That is something nearly everyone seems to be ignoring. I think the nuclear weapons talk is silly, especially when Iran really is giving reason to be a target. You guys remember those Houthis that have been shooting at cargo ships? Guess who is funding them?

I still don’t want to be involved in Iran. The spin that they have been innocently sitting on their hands is a little bonkers though

Does this seem to be Greater Israel policy? Not just dealing with a nuclear threat but removing barriers to further colonialism/expansion?

@HereticBD says it can't happen.

But the list that disagrees with him grows. @Rob Battisti, @Cherry Brigand and @Hog-train all posters prepared to say "No" to Trump if he gets involved in this conflict.

This is a microcosm.

The backlash would be immense.
Then they should impeach him very badly before he drags your country to another big war.

Backlash dont stop bad policies that much since Trump does not care anymore he will not run for another term so he will just take his fat cut from deepstate and call it a day.

Yes absolutey. But this is nothing new. USA stepped into the first Saddam war because the Saudis were shit scared, correct. But I think you are right that in the past Saudi Arabia and Israel were not so blatantly on the same team and both hate Iran for different reasons.

That s true. It’s difficult to defend Iran these days, just like it has been difficult to defend Russia. That doesn’t make Israel’s pretext to bomb them sketchy.

I dont disagree. I just think it’s really weird that both sides are arguing over the nuclear weapons pretext when we don’t need to go that far to find a good justification for bombing them.

I guess it’s possible I’m wrong and just don’t know what I’m talking about, or maybe it’s having grown up with the Iraq war, but the nuclear weapons thing smells of bullshit to me.
