Nobody knows at this point. There's simply not enough info available on Iran's actual capabilities, how much help they're getting from their allies, and how good US systems actually are. Damn near everyone in this thread thought Iran was finished after the first Israeli air strike, but Israel is now the one getting pummeled by missiles which are blowing right through every system the US and Israelis have. IF the US has made a similarly large fuck-up, they could easily lose way more stuff than they expected.

You're framing of this issue is backwards. Israel hasn't prevented nuclear development, it's more Iran hasn't wanted them bad enough to commit the resources needed to shorten the timeline while facing roadblocks from the US and Iran.

There are only four countries in the world that have given up their nuclear weapons. None of them were the result of military power, all required diplomacy and concessions. Are you disputing what the historical record is quite lear on?

You fundamentally do not understand the objective, basic facts of this matter. Nuclear weapons development takes years, a country can't just decide they want to make nukes one day and do it, which is how you are framing the issue (stop and delay are very different words).

What difference would this make? Israel has already communicated this implictly and expliclty in the past several decades. It's also entertained the possibility of nuking allies and neutral countries as blackmail if it faces national destruction.

Israel fundamentally can't admit they have nuclear weapons without opening a major can of worms. Namely the continued imprisonment of a whistle blower they abducted from the UK years ago and put in house arrest like a petty junta. It would also lead to NPT problems.
