I would love to see Ilia vs Islam, but if they have him fight a LW first I am fine with that too.

It should be a top 10 LW, but not really a contender IMO. I don't think any actual LWs that has been working towards a shot should be obligated to take a risk and fight Ilia to give him an opportunity. Like Charles for example, too much on the line for him.

I think a fight like Ilia vs Dariush or Moicano or Gamrot.

Yeah but Volk was #1 p4p then. At least Islam had something to gain risking his belt. Right now thes the #1P4P so it’s the burden in topuria(#4 p4p) to prove himself first. I dont think its much to as Ilia to beat a top 5 guy since islam is risking both his titles.

I don't disagree with the logic. I just highly doubt Islam keeps that same energy if he decides to move up. Highly doubt he's looking to fight the #1 contender or a top ranked WW or MW before fighting for the belt.

He, like all champs just want to skip he entire top10 and get the automatic TS, while having 0 wins in the weightclass. It's super lame.

If Ilia has all of those, he should get the shot right away too - but he has none. Not some - none.
