Islam vs WW

All of the best fighters at 170 are outside of the UFC at the moment.

Jack Della Magdalena and Belal Muhammad aren't among the 5 best welterweights in the world.

Shavkat Rakhmonov is to closer to Ian Garry than he is to the Top 5.

The following welterweights are all better than anything the UFC has to offer:

Ramazam Kuramagomedov
Shamil Musaev
Jason Jackson
Yaroslav Amosov
Magomed Umalatov
Based on what?

Islam is great and everything, possibly a top 10 all time great already, but I think he’ll have his hands full at WW. Honestly I think it’s the best WW generation ever tha he’s facing and I can’t imagine Islam holding the title against all these monsters just hitting their primes:

JDM- 28 y.o., 5’11, 73” reach, 18-2
Probably the best boxer we’ve ever had at WW. Amazing TDD and he’s very powerful as well. Also still very much improving

Shavkat- 30 y.o., 6’1, 77” reach, 19-0
Huge WW with an incredible finishing rate of 95%. High pressure and can finish the fight both on feet and on the ground. Undefeated

Brady- 32 y.o., 5’10, 72,5” reach, 18-1
Built like a tank, excellent wrestler. Unlike most historic great WW wrestlers, he actually goes for submissions and he’s really good at it

Garry- 27 y.o., 6’3, 74,5” reach, 16–1
Very long for a WW and uses that length very well. Very high fight IQ, neutralises his opponents strengths. Outstrikes the grapplers and outgrapples the strikers

Buckley- 31 y.o., 5’10, 76” reach, 21-6
Extremely athletic fighter. Powerful, fast on the feet, with creative striking, great kicks, strong wrestler as well

Morales- 25 y.o., 6’0, 79” reach, 18-0
Enormous for a WW and unbelievably powerful. 72% TKO/KO rate. Amazing TDD. At just 25, still just hitting his prime. Also undefeated

Prates- 31 y.o., 6’1, 78” reach, 21-7
Another huge WW. One of the best Muay Thai specialists we’ve ever seen at UFC. Sniper with a 76% TKO/KO rate. Great TDD as well

Honestly I can see anyone of these killers beating Islam and they would’ve been champions or title contenders in any of the previous generations. All of them just hitting their prime, I think the next 3-5 years will be very exciting at WW.
Agreed. He’s defended 4 times. More or less earned his shot at WW, but damn did he pick a wild time to dive in. The division looks a whole lot scarier now than it did say 5 years ago. He’s got his work cut out for him, for sure. Several very big framed, very well rounded, very capable guys at the top of this division. If he were to beat JDM convincingly, (or any guy on your list, for that matter) that would be an incredibly impressive feat. I can see Islam beating Buckley or Morales but the others I’m not so sure.

Nah, Shamil is really good though.

Apparently he ducked a 5 foot 145 guy who has no wins in the top 155 guys, who refused to fight the no.1 contender.

Islam likely beats all of them. Dude has yet to lose a fight in a long time yet you're all acting like he's moving up just to get obliterated.
These guys only take calculated risks. He knows he'll likely dominate.

He's yet to lose a fight in a long time because he's fought almost to nobody of note. He's also had some help from the judges. He's not winning a single fight at WW.

He's basically a dagestani Brady.

Im sure at 170 he will be as thick solid and tight as Brady with slightly better grappling and slightly lesser striking
Islam is pretty big. Brady lies about his height or something.

Shamil Musaev is the best welterweight in the world. Only folks who've never seen him think otherwise.

Islam should beat them all and become GOATed.

All of them are really good, I think Brady, JDM and maybe Shavkat give him issues. Ian and Buckley are really good as well. Its the new 155, if Islam can dominate it will a huge accomplishment and a much bigger deal than beating Ilia.

Exactly OP. Islam gets turnt to islamb at WW. Which makes giving Islamb a title shot at WW without proving shit is the number 1 bullshit. If Khababy had any shred of decency or gumption he would admit that Islam should never get a title shot at WW. Honestly, Islamb should be fighting a top 15 fringe guy to start out with at WW, as the top 5 all makes him tap out like a cry baby and run back to LW with his tale tucked between his leggings.
