IDK watching it live I wasn't scoring round by round so I felt Volk won watching the fight as a whole. But the people saying Islam "technically" won on points might be right. I'd have to rewatch it, but thanks to all Islam's backpack stalling it probably wouldn't be worth it, other than to see Volk continue to persevere through the odds.

Islam landed the better strikes so i guess he deserved the win.... He was fighting way too safe if you ask me though. Really never took any risks + lame groundgame. ref should have forced them to standup at least 1 or 2 times. Volk just didnt do enough in the end. Should have done more low kicks and not keep trying to get in range with those big swings.
Oh well i guess they were quite evenly matched

Islam won the contest, Volk won the fight.

Islam was “praying” for the fight to finish and was gassed even during the interview, whilst Volk became the aggressor too late for the points unfortunately, but it was clear Islam was in more and more trouble.

Volk should definitely remain P4P number 1 IMO.

Islam won but seriously, if championship fights were 10 rounds, I think Volk would have actually won. He rocked and dominated Islam in the 5th, Islam looked spent and had no more in the tank while Volk could have gone another 5.
