I agree, but teh worse part is that it is actually in the criteria that "position" scores zero. Way too many judges fook that up though. Strange.

well if not much happens striking or damage wise in the round it goes to TDs, position, control.

that round, acccording to fight metric, islam was 4/9 and alex was 6/13 for strikes. for a judge scoring in real time it was pretty much even. islam had 3:25 control time and 1/1 on TD

I’ve seen this sentiment a few places now and I believe this sums up what happened.

Islam won the decision and the LW belt, but Volk won the night and is the people’s champion.

You gotta admit latching on to the back for dear life while causing no damage, and being punched in the face and taunted the whole time, is a pretty shitty way to win a round that was the only reason in winning the fight.
