So he's moving up to WW to duck a FW who said eventually wants to move to WW? No I don't think many people will say this but it looks like Islam wants to hang tight at LW anyway because of Belal.

usman has one more fight on his bellator contract. usman will enter the UFC. islam will then vacate the 155 pound belt and go up to 170. at this point belal will either retire to age or wont be champ. i have heard both islam and belal say they wont fight each other. belal has also said islam beats the shit outta him when they train together. islam then takes the 170 belt. this will happen all within the next 2-3 years.

Dude the UFC needs to start a special team with funding and resources to fix this LHW/HW and now LW lack of competition or the brand is really gong to start struggling as soon as this summer. The Arman fight wasn't even that interesting since Islam beat him anyway and he blew his chance by getting injured the day before the fight. Moicano is going to be easy work. Nobody at LW is that interesting.

i agree. the divisions are becoming stale. 135 has merab who has only one defense but he has beaten everybody. HW has never been weaker, LHW has 2 people who are about to collide then they have nothing. what have jiri fight ahnkalev then have alex beat jiri again? 185 has khamzat, DDP, and strickland. then what? bo nikal gonna take that level of fight? 170 is opening up with the old guard finally gone and even then i feel islams wrestling alone would dominate the division if he moved up. they were def gonna push omalley for the next title shot but he didnt even go into the octagon once merab won. he knows merab is locking him down easily. he wanted umar. and that fight isnt going well for omalley either. The UFC just does a complete shit job of scouting new talent. the dana white contender series contracts mostly produce champions when the path to the title is easy. omalleys gifts, jamal hill, etc... it was never this way for ultimate fighter contract winners. they had to earn their way up. these easy paths to titles for these subpar fighters also congests divisions badly. jamal hill wouldnt be top 5 in rizin, much less PFL. omalley cannot wrestle at all, but his path to the title was nothing but strikers and some say he was gifted decisions along the way.

sub par scouting, contender series cans, and champs going for 2 divisions title status are hurting the UFC. start signing champs from other organizations and force vacates of titles if you move up in weight class to pursue other titles. stop congesting divisions. it then becomes stale with people holding down rankings to get that shot ( many who get that shot are on the second third attempt).
