Islam is the most likeable dag fighter

He's my favourite for ending "the champ has a name" shit from charles and his glazing fanbase, that was starting to get annoying
Bro you are spot on right there. You are spot on. I love everything about Charles. Charles is a fantastic fighter and human being , and the most respectful fighter out there. I loved everything about Charles except for the "the champ has a name" shit , mostly from Charles' fans (albeit, yes, I know Charles started it and hung on to it, even as recently as right now, he's still saying it). but my main gripe was his fans glazing him with this shit.

Easily the coolest guy on that team.
I'm usually a lurker and personally don't proclaim/cite any of my favorite fighters or camps. I do notice that you have never been too fond of the Dagestani fighters bro (maybe their personalities or whatnot come into play), but props to you , kudos to you, for saying the quoted part. Now that's a cool comment.

Timur Valiev, who competed at TUF, is hands down the most sympathetic dagi. He seems to be genuinely a really good and chill guy. All the others are cocky extremists compared to him. Too bad he didn’t make it in the UFC.
Props to you for that answer. As I notice that you dislike all the Dagestani fighters bro. Cool to see you put on your "neutral" hat and give some props. Though I hope for the day your stance on Islam is softened; I mean, chinarice can put aside all differences and say he's the coolest in the team. You can do it too one day, bro. lol.

100 yes. Hez the one i could maybe root for the others i straight root against

Timur deserves his spot as the most likeable. Things should change quite drastically to change my opinion to favor someone else.

i think they're mostly chill, apart from a natural arrogance that comes from a winning camp

but yeah, islam is the funniest one
that kangaroo clip cracks me up

Honestly without any hate, Khabib always striked to me as somebody who's a bit of a hypocrite (again idk him in real life, just the impression) and most of the dagestani fighters too.

But I feel like the only dagestani who is really likeable is Islam, he's funny and genuinely a good guy, is there people who actually hate him? I think he might have Aspergers too (no hate, once again, I'm not dissing)
Islam Makhachev represents this sport like no one else has. I am very proud to see this dag fight in life.

I find him much more likeable than the other Dagestanis as well. And yes I've noticed Khabib's hypocrisy. For example, going on Hot Boxing with Mike Tyson, which promotes marijuana use.

Islam is my favorite personality in the sport for the last couple of years. I'm thankful for DC. I feel like if not for DC people wouldn't have nearly as good of an idea on what a great character and person Islam is for the sport.

"If you want your son to have high level wrestling send 2-3 year Dagestan and forget" is a quote that replays in my head constantly. I find myself wanting to send my kids to *vacation* at an all inclusive Dagi wrestling camp
"If you want, six months...you can call him, one time"

I'm not a fan in the sense he commends mostly Dagestani fighters. For example, in the first Jiri Prochazka vs Poatan fight, which was an amazing fight, he posted "Ankalaev still best of the division" ... Or giving some free jabs, like in his podcast with Mighty Mouse in which he said the main and co main event of the last UFC would be real big fights, and that Jiri vs Hill would be a good paper fight... So taking jabs at a division he isn't even close to being into, and making fun of the ones that are not Ankalaev make it just kinda annoying to me.

Ik Khamzat is not Dagestani, but he has somewhat of that aura lmao, dunno... But imaging Khamzat Chimaev were Dagestani, he'd be the coolest one imo... Started with those crazy call out, but never crossing offensive lines, just playing the menacing fighter, but showing respect, hugging the opponent... Or admitting guys he never met like JJ as what he considers the GOAT.

Still tho he has a boosting aspect in, like, telling he'd submit Prochazka quite a few times when they'd spar together in grappling some years ago, which isn't cool.

All UFC fighter included, I like Jiri Prochazka and Poatan the most in terms of personality. In terms of being a mystery, being someone that's hard to know how to even speculate, that'd be JJ.

Of course he deserved to have fans but some of them were going too far saying he would destroy khabib and there was constant posts saying he surpassed khabib. At a certain point it seemed like they weren't even charles fans just people trying to push an agenda.
Charles was on his way to surpassing Khabib and he would have if he beat Makachev. Unfortunately he didnt. But there was nothing wrong with the Charles hype.

In fact you are no MMA fan if you did not like Charles and the legendary run he was on. You're part of a clan and not much else.

Serious question, were you around for Khabibs rise? Him on Ariels show, the interviews etc. He was always incredibly smart, funny and charismatic. He seemed for the most part honorable and decent but he does seem to be more of a bully and dick than Islam too, freezing Abubakar for tapping, slapping Lobov when he cornered him with his entourage. But yeah, I think Khabibs super likeable.

I think Khabib is instantly more charismatic, while Islam takes a while to grow on you.

Islam has a bit of a blank airhead stare, and isn't as sharp-witted as Khabib.

I just mean on a vibe level. Excluding politics.

In which way?

If charles beat islam he would have surpassed khabib, I'm not denying that. The issue was when they said he already surpassed him after the justin fight and were basically circlejerk hating on khabib under the guise of being a charles fan

Sad to see "I was not there" Umar throw his brother Islam under the bus.

Yet Islam was still there for him -- when Merab beat up Umar.

Islam is pretty special...🐎
What happened with Umar? How did he throw Islam under the bus?
