Which is odd as when we felt like it we set one up over hasaka

Were already straining to hold back the gulf states from doing it openly(or simply turning a blind eye to private individuals doing it) the utter failure of u.s policiy means its.only a.matter of.time.

1.- Against the regime, not the Russians.

2.- LOL at straining to hold back the gulf states. The moment one of those weapons is linked to a terrorist attack in the west, the moment the gulf states will cease to exist, simple as that.

There is a reason why such weapons are not being supplied to rebels.

1) russians didnt fly over either

2) so were now going to destroy allied nations over even unintentional letting weapons through and somehow instead of these being used are smuggled out to attack the west and not say russia?

The reason is bad policy (or good if the real intention is to.drag this out and bleed iran, hez and russia)

whougonnacall is just going through his regular fantasy that Murica will come to the aid of his favorite "moderate" Islamists. Apparently he hasn't snapped to reality yet after 5 years of war in Syria.

Nobody in the West likes your "moderate" rebels.

1) Because Russians are not at war with the Kurds.

2) Are you this retarded? a Stinger missile is not some shit you buy on the black market, a Stinger missile is something whose sale to a foreing nation is strictly controlled. So its not like whoops it accidentally fell in the hands of rebels like other type of gear.

3) LOL at bad policy, the US doesnt cares about Syria that much as to risk any amount of backlash over it. The only reason the US is messing in Syria is because Syria spilled over to Iraq and ISIS made the US look bad.

Just wow. Not much fight left in these SAA (or whatever militia) troops when a handful of JaF storm their position:

The video has been deleted. You got another site for it?

Anyhow, the Syrian army has been severely depleted in over 5 years of civil war. It's current manpower is only about 1/3 of its pre-war strength due to attrition, desertion and defection. Furthermore, many of its experienced veterans have been depleted, forcing the Syrian government to depend on local pro-regime militia to hold territories.

Most pro-regime militias, like their rebel counterparts, are poorly trained and motivated. They're no match for any determined and experience opposition. I'm not surprised that they have trouble holding ground against determined jihadists. There are also Shia militia groups from Iraqi assisting in the fighting, but they are also ineffective.

Realistically, the SAA only has a few combat effective brigade size units left. They are the Republican Guards, 4th Armor Division and the Tiger Forces. Combined together, Assad has only about 20K men that can carry out offensive operations, most of them tied down around Damascus, Aleppo and Hama. They are further supplemented by a few thousand Iranian Quds Force and Hezbollah fighters, with Russia providing air cover. Assad's survival at the moment is guaranteed, but he can't retake entirety of Syria with less than 30K elite troops.

You must be an special kind of kid.

The US can declare a no-fly zone in Syria an the Russians will continue flying through Syria, and the US wont do shit because that would be an offensive action.
Exactly. Russia would fly through because US isn't about to shoot down their planes and start WW3...they'd call the US bluff for sure if the US was that stupid to draw a line in the sand they can't hold--and US would surely appear weaker and lose face for it. If things were as simple as whodumbass presented, Russia would have never set foot in Syria...seeing as the US can vaporize them as soon as they act up.

1)but they are there to try and save their pet monster whos men were getting killed hence sending a russian general in to negotiate the surrender.

2)private individuals are how some of the last small batches were sent and those were already sold and paid for ages ago ,only the gulf states know exactly how many they gave and that can be manipulated
On top of that what are we gonna do? Not sell arms to the arabs anymore...good luck being the politican that trys and push that through,im sure the not exactly weak arms and oil lobbies will be forgiving come senate and congresss election time.
Given how few fucks we give id doubt wed do much
..feel.free to read the recent reuters article on gulf states wanting more manpads in syria.

3)agreed hence why its either bad policy or we realy do want to wach our enemies bleed but slowly

Overall we can go round and round this loop but until (i suppose its also if) the hilderbeast gets elected we wont see.

Or wed call their bluff and theyd stay down...lets not pretend there isnt a large military tech mismach there
And when i say the west would tell russia to ground their jets it wouldnt be literaly for fucks sake, theyd simply declare an area a no flyzone to syrian airplanes...the subtext being ''thats u too russia''

Russia went in as we seem to not have any plan or will to do shit there and their guy was crumbling ,the real head of the regimes military soleimoni went to russia prior to ask.

@whougonnacall Clearly is more knowledgable about the issue than a 4 star general and decades of US-Soviet proxy wars.

The only way that America can do to stop Russians is to give MANPADs to the rebels, and thats certainly not going to happen.
All Rusian planes operate above the altitude of 5000(the maximum effective altitude of MANPADs).

Theres a few that go above that
But with manpads low level bombing is out (barrel bombs) , the syaf cant really do much if forced to abandon low level bombing ( they currently cant even bomb at night anymore )
It also means choppers are out , all of which means the 'workload' for the russians is suddenly massively spread out and increased.

The ones that can operate above 5km are only Russian produced. Effective altitude of MANPAD's is 2-3 km, when you are going for a plane around 5km you are praying for it. Mi-28's and Mi-24's + KA-52's are at the moment not operated on battlefields in such volume that they were operated before. SyAF is not too useful, if they stop operating it will not be a big loss.

Really? i thought there would be more CAS on the field.

Stinger are not like small arms or tanks, they are more on the realm of aircraft and advanced missiles, its not like you can accidentally misplace a Stinger missile, so when one shows up on the battlefield is because someone gave it to them.

(well without counting the Iraqi or the Syrian caches that were looted).
