Is Vince Vaughn supposed to be funny?

Him and Favreau......100 lbs ago.

You find fast talking with a serious face funny?

Hes funny because hes responsive. He acknowledges the typical day to day annoyances and is verbal about it, usually vulgarly. Its funny for people that also speak up when annoyed and its funny for people that wish they could.

His delivery is also humorous because he is usually complaining about sexual/toilet subjects with that serious face you speak of, and he speaks fast, yet clear.

Hes not been funny lately because hes been doing more 'family' films. I thought his google movie was going to be good until I saw its rating. Comedian actors always fall into this shit and its downright depressing. I liked him in Wedding Crashers, Made, Old School, Swingers, and...I suppose Dodgeball.

In all honesty, if you dont find it funny, then you need to develop a sense of humor. Or dont, I cant care. Ill be the one laughing while youll be pouting. Whos losing out?

The same people who would make generalized negative statements about his humor are mostly the same who would about Dane Cook and nu metal. It's because they learned of them after the hype was created, subsequent to which those performers didn't have near the same ability. Their style was dependent upon energy and honesty which age and money ruins.

The reality is Dane Cook was very funny at the beginning ("this is like rock without the music), first album or two of Sevendust, Limp Bizkit, Hed Pe, etc were fantastic, and Vince Vaughn contributed to a slew of good movies into the early 2000's. Then there was a precipitous drop in their efficacy. As a wise man once said, “the flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long.” I'm happy they didn't die, but it'd have been much better for their professional legacies, i.e.: James Dean, Tupac, Bill Hicks, Lynn Strait (ug nu metal icon).

I like him and find him funny.

he was great in dodgeball.

Agreed. But I do think it was Stiller's character and humor that carried the film. Everything in between was filler to get back to Stiller. But still, Vince did great in the role. That's the type of role he thrives in.

He was the best part in Mr and Mrs Jones easily. "Ma! We're at Red Alert!"

Carlos Mencia and Dane Cook agree.

I never got the Dane Cook hate, Harmful if Swallowed was fucking hilarious, and his bit about cheating and arguing with women was spot on and hilarious as well.

"MY FATHER WAS A BRILLIANT MAN!"

Yeah I didn't mind his acts. He had great sets and kept the audience engaged. I didnt care for the religious bits though. He was red hot for a while and just fizzled out.

Yeah, I wonder if Dane Cook will reappear later with new material. He was shitting out a lot of material in a short period of time, as well as having a fuck ton of haters for no reason.

His first few specials were good, in my opinion. He was selling out MSG with ease and started getting some big acting gigs. I just don't think his style of comedy was something that is great for the long-term; his act just got old after a while. His insane popularity and tiring material back-fired on him, as it just became the "cool" thing to hate him. I've listened to him on a few podcast and he comes off as likable guy.

Yeah I think it was just over exposure. The more mainstream he got the more criticism he received. Which is going to happen to everyone. His fan base were mostly college kids so they most likely just moved on to the next fad.

I thought he was funny in Swingers and Made.... that's it.
After that didn't find him too funny anymore.

swingers he was good but the whole premise got sweaty after that

i think he appeals to tall ugly smart ass guys and ugly short girls

I never minded Dane Cook either. Carlos Mencia was the true fucktard to hate.
