I think a change is coming. Zuffa is losing the stronghold it has on MMA and I think Jones is the man who is going to fan the spark of the fire Fedor started GSP and Gilbert re-ignited that will changes MMA business for the better forever.

Jones has already proved he wont be bullied into doing what is best for Zuffa over his best interests. He is the P4P best fighter in the UFC right now and will use the leverage that comes with that to draw a line in the sand and get what he deserves, a fair shair of the profits and a fair contract.

I think it started with Fedor played hardball and telling the UFC to kick rocks. With Gilbert signing with Belator and then GSP giving up the belt to do what he felt was best for him and stop fighting I think The fighters are starting to realize No one makes money with out them.

With Jones being P4P best fighter and the most dominant champ the UFC has right now, I think Jones has the character it takes to lead the new generation of fighters into the dawn of a new era where the Fighters aren't afraid and start taking control of their own careers and getting what they are worth.

Could be time for the fighters to take control. But you never know if it will work out better for us fans.

He might try
But I don't think he'll succeed
They'll paint him as ducking DC and Gus and they'll have someone start stirring shit up about his DUI and who knows what else

But we'll see

I think it works out better because with Zuffa not owning MMA and the fighters more people will be willing to dedicate their lives to fighting and we start to see a greater increase in talent.

So if he doesn't get what he wants, he should go where? Bellator? One FC? Please.

If he goes, Dana starts his smear campaign and in 3 months everyone starts saying how he beat "past greats" and he's lucky he went so he doesn't need to fight DC.

He'll get $ don't worry, but nothing will change.

If jones leaves The UFC LHW division would lose all credibility. and many fighter will be willing to do the same.

What a negative attitude. And don't say you're just being real because none of that would realistically come from this situation. I don't think we're talking about Jones leaving the ufc entirely, not over this.

Bullshit. It would lose all credibility for like 5 minutes, then the average attention span of fans would kick in and onwards we go. And not one of the fighters would leave over this.

It may be negative, but i fail to see what's positive where basically the UFC holds all the cards.

Fedor made the biggest mistake of his life and he knows it. I guarantee he sits around in Russia and tries not to think about his insane handlers and their inability to strike a deal. He would of made so much money, and he would of had hard fights but had Fedor stepped up his training...man, anything could of happened. Mike Dulce, Fedor at 205, get out of here! He would of made millions and became an even bigger legend. I really hate that I never got to see him fight guys similar to his size because he didn't want to change his eating habits. Also do you want the UFC to become like boxing? Organizations who dole out belts four times over for what is it, 94 different weight classes. Since I don't have access to all of the UFC's finances it is impossible to say how viable their model is long term. I don't think people realize that the UFC isn't baseball, hell it isn't even the NFL in terms of money. Until a lot more billionaires start investing in MMA it is going to be tough to have free agents and fighters who are the REAL champion of the world.

Jones is still the ufcs bitch. he knows he is nothing without them. I don't think the ufc is even that into him. sure they embrace their champions they would be stupid not to but he isn't shoved in your face like liddel was. OP makes it sound like he calls the shots, but in reality of course they can't make him fight but he lost a lot of stock being too afraid to fight a mediocre middleweight on short notice. the ufc would roll on just fine if his contract isn't negotiated and he leaves; jones on the other hand would be a pretty instant nobody.

Sort of unrelated but I do surveillance at a casino (would like to keep it unamed at the moment) and I make $11 an hour. I've worked their two years never got in trouble once and supervisors and investigators constantly applaud my work. I have asked constantly and they still refuse to give me or anyone else a raise. I have waited until two people just quit and now I am about to quit on principal. I won't have a job but hopefully it will raise the wages for everyone else.

Read you OP again TS and learn to proofread.

I don't think Jones has really pushed it much. If the fighters ever get more control, it will mean the fans lose out cause we will get less legit championship fights between the two top talents.

Read your reply and Learn to not acrike a douche.

With Gilbert signing with Belator
Uh, this never happened. He agreed to do so, but UFC still had the opportunity to match terms and they did, a bit over 3 months ago. He'll get to coach opposite Anthony Pettis and receive a title shot.

Fedor made the biggest mistake of his life and he knows it.
I completely disagree with that. He made a ton of money and didn't have to stomach Dana White's blatant and absurd disrespect while doing so.

Not trying to bash you or anything, but the UFC gave us Jones vs Sonnen (hell tryed to do so on a weeks notice to their champion no less) as well as Silva vs Sonnen 1 & 2. The company doesn't care about the top talent fighting each other if it means they can make more money off of a hyped match. Otherwise Dana wouldn't be all about Rousey vs Carano if he could make it happen.

Of course he can go to Bellator, except for Cormier he already beat all the contenders.
