Marquardt is good offensively
but his chin and defense don't hold up anymore

Prime Thiago Alves is probably just as good
Not a striker?
He's landed more strikes than anyone else in WW history.
Honestly: who would win a striking match between the two?
If you really say Lawler, you're deceiving yourself, and deep down you know it to be a lie.
Diaz would out strike Lawler again. Robbie is really good but he still slows down quickly.

Diaz aint got the footwork to keep up with Lawler... Def one of the most exciting strikers, but too one dimensional as what we saw in the Condit fight...
Plus GSP and Diaz never evolved once they hit their ceiling... Robbie's about the same age as GSP, and look how he's improving... Robbie hasn't hit his peak yet, that's the scary thing.
Delusional GSP fans... He aint the most feared and effective striker, let alone the best overall...

lemme guess, started following MMA in 2012, don't even realize Nick has really flattened Lawler when he was only a teenager
Fucking lol at GSP never evolving. That is the dumbest statement in Sherdog history.

That was 10 years ago, and Melvin, Johny, and Ellenberger hits harder than Diaz. Flash KO... Has not happened since, so Diaz was obviously very lucky that night. What's more to say?

No, it was a flash KNOCKDOWN, you don't have flash knockouts bro. It was an accumulation of damage and Diaz catching him with punch after punch, on the run, and caught him with something he didn't see, multiple times. You underestimate Diaz's hands, he has great hands. Lawler didn't know how to handle the distance and the pressure, at the time. He has evolved past that now and I would love to see a Diaz rematch.
technical precision > raw power
Honestly no. GSP/Hughes 2 was before I discovered MMA. Haven't seen the fight in a couple years either.
Many people have already answered your question. GSP consistently out struck the best strikers at ww. Alves, condit, diaz. He was the best. He was a master at controlling distance
Nick would get the shit kicked out of him, cry like a child, and quit, again.
It was before I discovered it too. I'm just a crazy fight fan. UFC 88 was my first UFC event I ever watched.
