I hope TS didn't hop in his truck for a drive after making this thread...
With his dominant win over Dariush (unbeaten 5 years), Oliveria is now back in title contention. He has a storied career just like Tony Ferguson had, a title reign where he defended the strap more times than Islam has (against Dana favorites Dustin & Justin), and all the records to back it up.
1. Khabib 2. BJ Penn 3. Frankie Edgar 4. Charles Oliveria?
You could make the same argument for Charles. He gets rocked in damn near every fight he’s in.He has been for a while imo. Prime Tony was always very beatable.
Tony had a 12 fight win streakTony had a longer streaks with less names, lost when he was older. Olivera has a shorter streak with the top of the division besides Islam. There is some sort of debate here, but Olivera proved himself with his title run. Basically cleared the top 5.
LOL at BJ and Frankie there
Khabib
Oliveira
Henderson/Alvarez/Pettis

Huge T-Ferg fan, but Oli has been above him in terms of legacy for quite a bit of time IMO.
Frankie was 3-0 against Penn. He's ahead of him.Oliveira has 2 more top ten wins at Lightweight than Ferguson.
As for all-time Lightweights?
Khabib, Gomi, Henderson, Alvarez, and Penn are all above Edgar and Oliveira, imo.
