Is It Time for the UFC to Move On from Joe Rogan?

I always said even when they get critique, that when there both eventually gone, you’ll miss the Goldy and Joe days.

I also think that Rogan straddles a useful middle ground on someone who:

a) Isn't a fighter
but
b) Is truly a fight FAN and kind of acts (and overreacts) like a fight fan. (I never get that vibe from Anik or the other goof Fitzgerald).

The other guys that they have work cards are either former UFC fighters who are loyal to Dana or professional TV announcers who are essentially sycophants. Rogan always feels like that guy who you are watching a PPV with who is sitting next to you on the couch 4 beers in who knows a lot but is only correct about 50% of the time he thinks he's correct.

Cormier is fuuucking bad lately, having mini strokes midsentence. Michael " hey listen" Bisping isn't great either. But then Rogan is back, and he totally lose himself on leg kicks, and will talk about it for the entirety of the fight. He's obsest about being right. Joe saw X fighter move his knee awkwardly 30sec into the first round? He'll bring it up in the octagon interview. Shouting "HE'S HURT!" "OOOHHHHHRRRR!" with his unbearable shrieking voice. He only talks like that when doing UFC. Everyone else speak calmly, Joe - " HE IS WORLD RENOWNED, TOP OF THE FOOD CHAIN, GREATEST OF ALL TIME, MURDERER P4P CHAMPION"

Yes, it is time.

What will we do without Joe yelling "he's hurt!" every time someone connects? I'll be totally clueless.
that is his job. His job is to exaggerate submissions and strikes to make it more exciting to casual fans who don't know what is happening.

TheBodylockmma.com can suck it... how about that?

Drake Riggz bless & fook anyone who doesn't appreciate Drake... but I don't agree with him this time... because I enjoy Rogan's commentary. NOBODY GETS IT RIGHT ALL OF THE TIME... so just deal with it in the times he's a little off.

Maybe this is a good wake up call if Rogan happens to see this... because maybe he'll rock up to the next level. You have to understand that none of the commentators are up on every aspect of every fight before they're asked to commentate. They have to research each person & that's a lot of fooking work... so if Rogan is not doing that & he gets some pushback... then this is a positive pov to present to him that might make him rock up & get back into the game 100%. That said, I don't think he's off as much as this podcast is making it out to be. EVERYONE SLIPS.

I DON'T LIKE ANYONE'S COMMENTARY ALL OF THE TIME. Just saying. I'm sure you are the same.

Lets not cherry pick Rogan's commentary for an agenda to pick out the VERY FEW times he's not spot on, because the percentage is way in the favor of the times he's giving us exciting sounding & informative commentary

"One foot out of the door?" GTFO... "often wrong?" that's maybe just cherry picking. He's obviously very well versed in the sport & maybe he fooks up from time to time like a lot of people do, but he's "MOSTLY RIGHT!" (imo) with a large margin.

It's time for the retired Veteran fighters with smooth talking skills and charisma to take over the calls for UFC events. I love having DC, Dan Hardy, Paul Felder, Bisping, Cruz in the seats giving us real information from an actual point of real practical experience in the Octagon. DC's ideas are so smart and intuitive that fighters call them the, "cheat codes," that they can use when grappling during this no crowd Covid era. We are very, very lucky to have DC in the seat taking about grappling and teaching us what fighters should be doing.

I think Joes passion for the sport is still there. But his passion for commentating is long gone. He has other shit going on and probably wanted to leave as it is before the UFC spiced up his pay. He doesn't give a shit anymore and you can tell.

just make it optional so we can turn it off

honestly if they'd do that i'd actually subscribe and watch legally

The problem UFC has is that if they let go of Joe and he teams up with Goldberg then Bellator only need Jon McCarthy and a sound MC for it to seriously start resembling old school UFC, which would be bad for Zuffa.

I didn't even read the OP. Came in here to say, he's the best commentator the UFC has.

Flawed but he's better than anyone else up there. He brings the hype "OOOOOHHHH" *in that high pitch voice*
