Is Fury the GOAT if he beats Usyk?

Fury did outbox him but he was dropped early and then lost some rounds toward the end of the fight. Francis was able to compete with him on nearly even terms. Both looked sloppy. Ngannou was in shape, Fury wasn't, but it doesn't erase what Ngannou managed in there against Fury. He just scraped by a non-boxer debutant. Think about that for a second.
Floyd the supposed GOAT of the lighter weight classes struggled with Conor and got lit up each time he moved forward and only took over when Conor gassed.

Fury outboxed Francis the entire fight and dominated ngannou after the knockdown. The knockdown was the only significant moment Francis had. Fury looked sloppy and was out of shape

I think that Fury won, but if he'd "dominated" Ngannou, there wouldn't have been a bunch of people, even from the boxing world, shitting on his performance.

They are the best of their era, same way Tyson, Lewis and Holyfield were the best of theirs.

They're the best based on assumption. Both have limited resumes.

They haven't fought most of the division.

We don't know if there are certain guys who would trip them up. You don't know how style match ups play out unless guys actually fight each other.

I blame Fury for this more than Usyk. Without the pandemic and Fury's games, I think that Usyk would've had far more HW fights.

Fury, on the other hand, is a con artist who's dedicated to taking the path of least resistance.

Was Floyd active and in or near his prime still? No. Even if you don't think that he carried him Floyd was retired, didn't train like Fury, and Conor is a much bigger man who actually had an amateur boxing background. Floyd's strategy was clearly to have Conor punch himself out and then stop him which he did. He knew he wouldn't be able to handle the pace.

Fury couldn't even adjust to Ngannou. Not one adjustment was made by him. He was befuddled.

He did not. He lost an early round or 2 and you can probably go back to the play by play thread to see people shocked with how competent Francis looked before the knockdown.

It wasn't just the knockdown that had people writing Fury off & saying he embarrassed boxing. It was that Francis had a decent amount of success besides the knockdown.

I think the right guy won, but it wasn't a domination by any stretch of the word. It was literally not just 1 round that had many people wanting Francis to be ranked in the top 10 or 5. It was that he had a close competitive fight with the #1 ranked boxer in the world.

Fury getting dropped once & losing 1 round would not yield to the level of scrutiny he faced after and the false level of hype we all gave Ngannou after....Then AJ showed us reality pretty quickly.

Floyd didn’t carry him, that was the excuse because he couldn’t knock him out early and struggled. Watch the fight even boxers commented on how Floyd tried to move forward to put Conor away and Conor timed him with the uppercut or another punch each time he rushed in. Floyd wasn’t far from his prime and had just retired, he’s still boxing now and winning lol. Conor also didn’t have a boxing background, no record of it at all.

Fury did adjust to ngannou and still won each round after the knockdown. Ngannou didn’t do nothing after the knockdown. It was a punch behind the ear anyway

Besides the one knockdown fury easily cruised to a decision, he looked sloppy and didn’t take any risks and still won pretty easily. I’m pretty sure Francis only won that one round and that’s it. That was a sloppy fury who didn’t take the fight seriously and was focused on his fight against Usyk. Fury was out of shape and hadn’t even started his conditioning for the fight a month after.

Why would Floyd need an excuse for not knocking Conor out early? We're talking about a guy that was known for going the distance. Only when he was younger, and his hands were healthy, was he a strong finisher.

Floyd wasn't far from his prime? LOL. Yeah he's still boxing alright. In pointless exhibitions against influencers. Conor boxed as an amateur at the junior & youth levels. That's a fact. And no, Fury never adjusted. It was competitive for all 10 rounds. Fury barely beat him.

Conors not a boxer so of course Floyd wanted to make a statement and put him away early which is why instead of fighting his normal way he tried to press the action and move forward only to get countered, you can actually see the concern on his face when Conor started snapping his head back with shots. Unless you think Floyd was planning on letting Conor lite him up then plan on KOing him in the last round LOL get real. You saying he wanted to gas Conor out makes Conor look even better actually, why would Floyd who’s the better boxer need to gas out an mma fighter to win.

Fury is also not in his prime anymore, he’s 36 and starting to slow down. Fury easily cruised to a decision after the knockdown and didn’t even have to take any risks, just jab jab jab

Conor was a boxer. An amateur boxer that was trained by Phil Sutcliffe Sr. Floyd wanted Conor to punch himself out because he had a big size advantage. It was the only way he was going to stop him. Hence why he did it. Floyd was retired. He was so 'concerned' about Conor that he didn't even bother to stay in his boxing stance. He just walked forward like a zombie and lit him up. Quit making ridiculous excuses for your boy. Fury looked like a fucking bum against Ngannou.

lol at a big size advantage, they are literally the same size beside maybe an inch. Floyd fought way bigger opponents than Conor and didn’t have to gas him out. Floyd wanted to finish Conor early but couldn’t, he also came forward because Conor is also a counter puncher.

Floyd is the one who got lit up until Conor gassed lol. You think Floyd let Conor tee off on him and rock him lol get real. Pillow fisted Floyd couldn’t even knockdown or KO a gassed Conor.

Fury looked like a bum because he didn’t even train or take Ngannou seriously and still won pretty easily. Like fury literally had a fight scheduled a month after, the ngannou fight was supposed to be a light sparring exhibition

Floyd is the same size as Conor? Yeah we're done here. You're a deluded moron. My advice would be to release your grip on Fury's nuts.

You’re comparing an amateur boxer to the supposed GOAT lol. You obviously have a bias. Big difference between training some boxing and being the best boxer in the entire sport

Conor is barely bigger. They are both 5’8 and weighed in the same. Get out of here with the size excuse, Conor isn’t Logan Paul

lol at thinking fury took ngannou seriously when everyone seen what fury did the Wilder 3x snd Klitchko. You think ngannou is a better boxer than those 2?
