Is anyone else depressed???

I did get the feeling you guys are describing when Rampage lost twice to Wand, but damn I was young..

One has to win, one has to lose. May the best man win, life goes on.

Alright, Sherbums, let’s be real—Max Holloway is a fan favorite, a legend, and one of the most entertaining fighters we’ve had the privilege to watch. Watching him lose by KO to Ilia Topuria in such an intense and thrilling fight is rough. It’s a reminder that, as good as Blessed is, there’s always another up-and-comer waiting for their moment, and this time it was Topuria’s turn to shine.

But for those of us who have followed Max’s career, this one hits different. Holloway’s toughness and durability have made him practically invincible in striking wars, but Ilia brought the power and precision that led to this moment. Now we have to ask—where does Max go from here? How does he bounce back from this loss, or is this the start of a new era at featherweight?
Hell, Rob and Max both lost decisively on the same night...I am depre

Nah, I was fully prepared for this card to be the passing of the torch. New guard is here. If Ilia stays around at the championship level for like 7 years the way Max has, he too will one day be on the wrong side of things. This is part of the game.

Yes, I get depressed every time seeing an idiot hater like you, trash troll with fetishes on Muslim fighters, Russians from Dagestan always posting shit here.

I have been into combat sports for like two decades, so many favorites over that time have come and gone. You will definitely still get attached to fighters but it will never be the same and yeah after a while you just kinda accept the way things are and that eventually your favorite will go down and most likely hard.

That's pretty much where I'm at with most fighters today. For me it started with Fedor's downfall and probably ended with Max today. Max was like an old attachment I still had jsut ebcause he stuck around at the top for so long. I just hate the disrespect new fans show these legends when they lose.

I wanted Max to win. I should have bet on Ilia as an emotional hedge. I knew that dude is just special. He's on a level as prime Aldo right now. I dint think anyone can touch him.

Max actually looked better than I thought, and I started to think he might win, until he didnt. I hated this fight for Max so much. I just wish he stayed at 155. There's nothing Max can offer back at Ilia to make him stop coming forward.

Great fight though.

Search's for where to find an emotional support animal went up a bit after this card.

Nah I don't get depressed over this shit no more, I used to back in the day when I was younger and far more invested but after seeing your favorites go down time and time again eventually you just kinda get used to it and realize it's inevitable.

It sucks sure, love Max and Rob but their time has passed.
This.

When you first start watching you build fighters up as heros/arch types, but after following the sport long enough you realize they are just human beings that the fight game will eventually swallow whole if they stay around long enough.
(except Wieli I'll never be okay seeing her lose lol)

Max's t-rex arms meant that this loss was inevitable, Topuria is way too good at throwing powerful strikes in succession

No. Somebody was going to crack Holloway's skull eventually and it had to be meaningful. This was a great passing of the torch moment, as Ilia's fist torched Max's chin.

I’ve been saying he was going to get knocked out since this fight was announced
So I feel validated
I thought the same although to be fair Max's chin did hold up for longer than I felt it might, the warning signs were definately there before the finish though, Max eating shots you don't want to be eating too often.

100%. This is the natural flow, guys like Whittaker and Max can't be on top forever.

While my heart may be sad, my Khamzat - Sub/ topuria - KO parlay lessens the pain.

Not me, no sport depresses me when it doesn't go the way I hoped. At the end of the day the losers still have their health and families, that's what really matters anyway.

It was a solid card

Khamzat vs Rob was a bit anti climatic but that was an amazing performance from Khamzat, No one has ever done that to Rob

Ilia KOing Max was sad but awesome at the same time, Ilia is a potential GOAT

I had to witness the humble God loving man Jones get injured
My heart was shattered so badly nothing else phases me anymore
But yeah I feel bad for Max
