Is Anyone that Excited for This Weekend?

Im pretty excited for the UFC card. Max has always been 1 of my favorites, Costa & Pitbull fights should be good. Marvin/Allen has heat, Holland & Zellhuber should get cool finishes. Throw in the Usyk rematch prior to & Saturday should be fun!

But I'm typically not as pessimistic as the average sherdogger

A man (hetero that is) forced to go shopping with women is an obvious violation of the Geneva Convention. Yes, I'm serious.

Also, the only fight I even care about on this card is the main event, and even then it's only because of Poirierfan. Oh well.

My wife and daughter not only know better than to ask me to go, they don't WANT me to go. Which is phenomenal, there's a universal understanding and everyone is happy. If we go somewhere for a weekend where they plan to shop a lot, they make sure there's bars/golf courses/casinos right nearby. Or they'll say "If you plan to workout, maybe plan for afternoon while we shop..."

It's not a good card and the headliner doesn't excite me at all. 2-0 trilogies should almost never happen outside of extremely controversial split decisions.

Max vs Volk 3 was arguably the only fight that made sense at the time and Max earned a title shot so those circumstances were a bit different. Like if Volk didn't have the title I would not have wanted to see him fight Max again even with the close fight they had in the first rematch.

Dustin should have fought Justin, end of story. Now it's either Dustin wins and this was pointless since he's done it twice already, or Max pulls through and sends Dustin into retirement on a loss which doesn't feel great even though I love Max lol.

Not really. Sure, I'll watch, but this card blows. UFC saving some good fights for their next client
Yea, I keep thinking this is a lame duck year with UFC holding back the "good fights" as leverage in the media rights negotiations, but then I think what would those "good fights" even be?
I think if the BMF belt was treated more like the special belt that it is, it would add legitimacy to it.

Only BMF fights can have special rules. Seven 4-minute rounds.
Absolutely, the BMF belt is an absolute embarrassment especially given the recent trend of fighters supposedly choosing to vacate real titles, any fighter (yes that is you Max) not vacating the BMF belt should be ashamed of themselves. If they are not willing to vacate and put an end to this stupidity they should at least be required to finish the fight to earn the belt or better yet throw the opponent out of the cage, or maybe put it on a ladder or something.

I'm skipping it. 100%. The main event should be a good fight, but I don't see the relevance. The immediate title picture is either Arman or Paddy as the next title challenger for Topuria. If Poirier wins and retires, the main event is 100% meaningless. And even if Holloway wins, he still needs to fight a #1 contender fight for a rematch with Topuria.

Not even streaming this card lol It's meaningless for both fighters and I've seen them both get enough CTE for one lifetime

I'm excited for the 2 title fights and McGregor getting his rematch against the LW GOAT

My take on it too, most fights look like they could be bangers even if they dont make much difference rankings wise :meow:
Also lets be honest with ourselves, most of us dont buy PPV's anyway regardless of the quality.

Vettori & Allen have a problem with each other , that can be fun

Boxing bring´s the excitement this weekend, the UFC is just along for the ride with their card.

You know the drill.
Post the fight card if you want us to talk about the fight card.

Really not much to look forward to on this fight card.

Main Event - great standup slugfest
Costa - big following + antics
Holland vs D-Rod - should be a good slugfest
Ige vs Freire - another battle, foty candidate
MJ vs Zellhuber - screams finish
Vettori vs Allen - solid MW fight
Fuggit vs Dulatov - Fuck it
Ryan Spann - always good for a finish
How many fights are left on costas contract?
Feels like the guys been wanting out forever and he's just a punching bag at this point.

The co main event has a guy that has not won a real match in almost 6 years.
The corpse of Rockhold does not count.
