Tech "intel's f-----"

The first product that Intel's CEO highlighted is 14th Gen Meteor Lake family for desktops and laptops. Based on the Intel 4 process node, the next-gen client CPU is on road to high-volume manufacturing and the first production stepping is expected to be taped out in Q4 2022. The second major product is the server-aimed Granite Rapids Xeon lineup which will utilize the "3" process node and the first stepping is already out of the Fab. Both Intel 4 and 3 process nodes deploy EUV which will mark a major leap in transistor performance per watt and density. Intel expects a volume ramp of Meteor Lake CPUs in 2023.

This was from Intel's earnings call on progress being made on EUV process nodes.

and peb's back to redundant spam. huge surprise. over a month old and no real info? better post it somewhere!

(this started in ireland, and was lulzworthy, but now it's... not just ireland)

unpaid leave?

wat

like i said a gazillion times now, you clowns seem to think that a 12400/13600 (or whatever the best price:perf deemed cpu is) getting sales is somehow great for intel. meanwhile, their margins are slashed.

and for the umpteenth time, datacenter is what matters most.

ffs, january is 2 months away, anyway. (i mean, if you think this shit matters)

are you seriously this retarded where you think lowering their prices/margins is good news? hello? begging for taxpayer $ and immediately does $10B of layoffs. fire sales on their assets - including fabs and r&d facilities. in the red for the next however many years... lolz @ bragging about some shitty company with some of the most obscenely greedy management having deals on inefficient CPUs... when their competition didn't even bother to have a serious launch and viewed themselves (5800x3d) as the primary competition. THAT's how bad/dumb this is. add in a glut, and it's just a joke.

i know you can't get enough of patty's semen, but ffs. genoa's already out. bergamo is on the horizon. yeah, intel's seriously fucked. even all of biden's meddling hasn't been enough for them... and after the layoffs, i'm not sure they'll get another chips act.

Wait, didn't AMD just slash prices on AM5?

Intel slashes prices, bad. AMD slashes prices, good.
blank-stare-really.gif

wat?

because that's what i said, right? no. it's bad for both. client is rekt. but it's wayyyy worse for intel than amd, since intel's also bleeding out in other segments. amd's client numbers were/are godawful, but every other segment is killing it (esp datacenter).

i've also mentioned about 50 times now that amd's focus is hpc and everything else has been distant second.

Learn Rob how this is going to be a problem.

wow, i had no idea of any of this. who's asml and why did i mention them 20 times in this thread (and another 20 in the wr ones, even explaining their monopoly...) before?

The CEO of TSMC admits that China's aggression is a cause of concern apparently? I am shocked no seriously LOL I been saying this for years and certain Sherdoggers who remain nameless said nothing to worry about lol. Currently working with US and Germany the US production factory on the way and Germany have not broke ground yet.

a month old article nothingburger and from the herald of semiconductor news - the nyt. wumao things.

meanwhile, meteor lake.

I see the stupidest fight ever is still going strong

nah, he/they know they're wrong and are just trolling, albeit poorly/ineptly. the stupidest fight ever is basically long done.
LOL, coming from the dicktucker who still won't even offer an estimated date for when Intel goes under over three years later.

AMD grows Epyc datacenter share, loses to Intel generally
You always retreat to nonsense about servers, but Intel's revenue in that segment continues to be triple AMD's. Meanwhile, AMD never grew to hit 14% of global consumer desktop PC shipments, and even that has been more than halved in the most recent quarter. The plunge was even worse for their laptops which are down to 15%. Among discrete component purchases Intel's 13th Gen is shitting on Ryzen's 7000 series globally outselling it better than 2-to-1. Beyond that, Intel is vastly more diversified, and is doing better against the general computing slowdown because of it. So, big picture, Intel continues to outsell them everywhere but for datacenter semiconductors, and even there, it maintains a better than 4-to-1 lead among existing infrastructure.

"Intel is fucked" was the moment you became the undying joke of this subforum.

To be fair I don’t believe at any point Rob Mafia ever expressly made the claim that Intel was going to go out of business. The phrase “Intel is fucked” can be open to interpretation, and looking through the earlier pages of this thread to me the possible context to which Rob was applying it could have meant:

- the company’s stock could lose significant value
-the company could lose significant market share
-the company could undergo significant layoffs or other downsizing

The phrase “Intel is fucked” could encompass any combination of the above happening and still not mean that Intel is going out of business anytime soon, or at all.

For people to randomly pop into the thread to say “ha! looks like Intel is still in business, loser!” is a bit of a straw man and trying to put words in Rob’s mouth that were never really there to begin with as near as I can tell.

With that being said shouldnt TS clarify his statement so everyone knows what the fuck he is meaning by it?

I mean I guess so. The first few posts of the thread appear to have been edited somewhere along the line so I don’t remember exactly what they originally said, but my vague recollection was that it was probably related to share price or something like that as Rob likes to hold himself out as a sophisticated investor in the stock market. I don’t know anything about that stuff so I have no idea if he actually knows his stuff or is talking out of his ass. Only point I’m making is I don’t recall him ever saying that Intel was going to end up like Blockbuster video.

i never said they're going out of business, that was one of @Madmick 's many (many... MANY) strawmen. and i even pointed out that if i knew when that day was, it would be worth gazillions and i sure as shit wouldn't post it. i did suspect they're going to have to divest their fabs (and they are... selling half to brookfield) and/or make other sacrifices.

i said they're fucked. and since... they sacked their entire management, cratered their stock/market cap (got rekt while the entire sector soared... and then got further rekt when the sector tanked), lost their rockstar engineer, begged for govt handouts from numerous countries, made NEW grandiose claims that x will get them back on track in design and y will give them the best fab/idm 2.0, tried to buy a idm (step 1 to having a successful idm... buy a successful idm [tower] ), had the buy stall, became a customer of the fab they're pretending they're going to beat (tsmc), sold off mobileye for peanuts, and now admit to being in the red for many years (seems to keep increasing each time). ffs, they got the chips act... and then announced fucktons of layoffs. and now with yet ANOTHER delay in the works... and shit, ponte vecchio/aurora STILL hasn't been delivered. that shit's older than this thread. eg, they were absolutely fucked. and... they still are, even. i thought patty might actually be able to turn shit around, but sincea while ago, i think he's just an attention whoring snake oil salesman. (and he's now trying to strongarm the eu for more $ to build the fabs they already announced)

ffs, i even called when it was time to finally short intc (when they ceased the buybacks that were propping up the sp [to line their execs with bonus $], and basically the point of the thread [absolutely egregious buybacks... again, some $200B wasted... that were not capable of fixing their fabs problems) - and was dead-on about that, too. once their buybacks ceased, the sp got destroyed.

and madmick knows he's been rekt and he knew it for about 2 years now. hence, why he hasn't refuted one thing i said... and tried to turn this from being about a company to 'hurr durr, they're capturing the budget client market while undercutting themselves' - as if that's what this thread was about... or that worse margins are somehow good for them. peb's just an idiot who seriously seems to be infatuated with patty.

you'd have to be a complete clown to think intel's been fine.

the mods (plural) here are reallllly insecure and seem to feel a need to have the posters believe they're the masters of this shit or something. hence, alllllll the related bullshit (i'm banned from the big active threads here, sooooooo many posts/threads were deleted... including in the support section, asking why they were deleted). all the passive-aggressive shit like refusing to tag @jefferz , and all the moved goalposts and strawmen that littered this thread (and the others), while fuck all has been refuted.

ffs, he even posted polling the forum to let them decide... and then deleted that, too.
