Opinion Indians keep flooding Canada

Taking off shoes in the house is a cultural compromise? WTF lol.

A lot of Americans and Canadians also take off their shoes in the house.
That and a lot of other stuff, eating curry and spicy food that makes my nose run. It's as big a compromise to me as telling them to eat a cheeseburger, only they don't see it that way. It does cause issues because I know they won't do the same percentage of compromise for me. Feels disrespectful or rather, like they want everything their way, which, yes, bothers me. No relationship is all one way no matter how much people try to make it.

I don't do those and some people might have a problem with those things like taking their shoes off. Especially older people more set in their ways. And yes, sometimes, back when I did moves for people, going in and out of a house 50 times, it didn't matter whether they were american or whatever, that'sa pain in the ass.

Typical "Look at the fascist! " Thats all you guys have. I never said it was disrespectful. I stated the truth. They don't assimilate, they take over. I have friends here in the dog that can verify my friends are the fucking UN of the world lol. I have more nonwhite friends than white friends. Just a product of where I grew up. I don't live in Toronto, but I stand by what I said....Can you imagine any other group doing this in India, China or a Muslim country? By the tens of thousands? What if a bunch of American Catholics Did an Easter Parade 250k deep in any of those countries? Would never happen.
people in general are xenophobic. It's in all of us, my auntie used to warn me about how it wouldn't matter who I was that if i was an outsider going to a village where my tribal members may live, that it made no difference, they'd be hostile. Made no real sense to me at the time but that's what she said and I know she's right.

So, no, hell no, we wouldn't be able to go anywhere in large numbers without having problems in most cases. In this era, again, the bottom line is money though so somebody is benefitting and we could do it if someone was benefitting over there. Just so happens, most countries are poorer than us.

Home of what? Compared to which countries? Which martial art?

They do try to compete based on their size and don't even do well on the regional circuits.

In Israel there are many that have physical jobs. Also there are some decent fighters that have made it to the UFC and did alright. Their Judo team does well internationally to this day.
I've heard that India was the original home of the asian martial arts, that's what I've always heard. That all that Kung Fu and Karate originally started in India. The philosophical aspects are probably thrown into there with the physical parts. Buddha and hinduism all had some influence.

I am aware they don't do well, they have the numbers but they don't have the culture. I doubt it's genetic but maybe it is.

I didn't say that no one in these places do work with their hands, but we know that certain people of certain castes do not do things with their hands. I'm sure someone does the work, after all, it ain't all immigrants building the houses and temples. Jews generally do not do physical work, they know it. Don Rickles made a joke at Frank Sinatras' funeral, at one of the other pallbearers expense. This man said that he felt like the casket felt like it was gonna rip his arm off so this man asked the guy behind him, Rickles, "what happened, the casket felt like a ton" Rickles said, "I'm Jewish, we don't do this type of work". It's one of the stereotypes but of course there are always exceptions. For a time we had great Jewish boxers and there have been some greats in other sports. Most of the time, guys like Benny Leonard, were admonished by their parents for doing something so secular or foreign culturally but they did it anyways, it's america.

Yeah you pretty much said it all, in their mind there's only Hitler, and white colonizers, and everything else was just everyone singing kumbaya in a perfect utopia. I've also listened to countless hours of history and any Dan Carlin content I could get, and it really helped put things into perspective for me and made me realize just how lucky we are to be living in the time we are living.

So yeah, when one of these pampered trained seals repeat the same lame shit like "racist", "nazi", "literally Hitler", "America is the worst place ever", or whatever other dumb shit, my blood just starts to boil, I wish I could fucken send them back in time to somewhere like ancient Assyria where the local warlord will filet you alive if you object to anything he says. Just a bunch of soft crybabies with zero knowledge about anything outside of their shitty little bubble.
What's funny is that it doesn't even take a time machine.
After living in America, I moved back to Serbia for a decade, where I had the shit kicked out of me by police regularly, had to pay bribes, had no legal recourse to anything as a non-citizen, and was even fired from a job I had due to the State accusing me of espionage, among other authoritarian shit that really makes you appreciate the United States more than anything else can. Recently I watched that black chick move to Africa and not last too long before she realized what a mistake she made, she encapsulates it.

in general, most of us weren't that brutal, in fact, I met a Nez Perce Indian recently and he asked if I was haida or aleut and I joked, "those are our ancient enemies" and he mentioned whether we did what the russians did (wipe out 90 percent of the eskimo's) I just replied, "you know we wouldn't do that". My people were just violent enough to run people off. Thank goodness because it's in the history books that the russians left us alone because we were "hostile". Ya, hostile to people trying to wipe out 90 percent of us.

All tribes were different and varied, they do say that one of the reasons the europeans was able to prosper was by our own naive help, ya know, thanksgiving and all.
I think the Comanche would wipe out 100% of the Eskimo if given a chance.

I always hear that the Comanche were just cruel and cruelest of the cruel. That's just one tribe though. All I can say is I've known a couple Comanche's and they seemed just as kindhearted as any of us.

All I can say is that my people never set out to kill everyone. We did do things backwards like cannabalism but I'd guess that if we all went far enough back, probably everyone's folks have done that.

As a Croat who grew up in Hercegovina I can relate. We from the Balkans are a different kind of white people. 😆

cute, this should be funny. and you knew one of her complaints would be about food.

My buddy has worked in africa and he has nothing but good things to say about it and says that the folks who say it's backwards are lying. Maybe, maybe not. Africa is a huge place and I don't think he's only been to certain places. Tribal people are the best wherever they are if they have retained enough of their old ways. That don't include people who've imitated madness like Idi Amin or pol pot or whoever.

Edit: It was funny. Don't know what she was thinking. Colonized people think that we haven't picked up the same shit that was done to us, that's why I said I'm not surprised that we kill our women more than anyone else and I'm not surprised that my childhood indian friend or my male relatives say nothing positive and I would not be a bit surprised if I went to my father's village and found nothing but dysfunction and addiction and conflict.

The problem is, where can I go. Those of you who do have some sort of solid family or community or culture or country are blessed. I've never had any of that in enough of a quantity where I could live in any way that's really acceptable.

Ma znaš i sam onda koliko ovi bolidi jedu govna na zapadu što se tiče "muh oppression."
My father was born in croatia, my mom is montenegrin, and I've lived in every Balkan country besides BiH. We're truly a people built different when it comes to coping with suffering, but there isn't a single day that I'd rather have to live my life over there rather than in the US.

People here can't even fathom what's it's like to actually live in a more or less opportunity-less society where you will get harassed by authority as they have nothing better to do.
I do love going back over the summers and do plan on eventually retiring there when I've nothing left to do here, but I understand that's a massive privilege that I don't take for granted.

I get it, when I go to fairbanks and get treated like they treat the natives, I tell my cousin I'd get lynched if I stayed.

No perspective, instead of sending these pampered kids to regular school they should all be forced to do a foreign exchange program in Third World country for a few months just to appreciate where they are..

This would, and I wholly believe this, solve many social issues in the country. Maybe if it was a really shit kid, the parents can choose to keep the Cambodian instead?

My neighborhood is almost entirely Indian these days. When I bought my house in 2012 my block was about 50% white, 30% Indian and 20% “other” (Filipino, Chinese, Latino and Somalian). Now my block is like 90% Indian. When we moved in back in 2012 the neighbours immediately to our left were Indian, but the house next to them on the other side was a Chinese family, followed by the next two houses in a row being white families. To our right was a white family, followed by a Somalian family, followed by an Indian family. Now it’s just Indian families in all those homes. Out of the 8 houses in a row we’re the only non-Indian family left. I really hope AI translation software comes a long way in the next few years so that I can actually communicate with our neighbors as they’re all Sikhs and speak Punjabi.
Duo Lingo can help a lot with pronunciation and once you have that down, a combo of google translate and voice recognition can do wonders for you.

It's funny how much things like a neighbourhood can change over time. I wonder if the previous owners were just enjoying the seller's market of the last decade or so, or if there's any data that suggests some other reason they elected to sell.

I literally lol'd at the sad/frowny face reaction to your post. You don't strike me as the "there goes the neighbourhood" type, but out of curiosity, I have to ask, do you think the situation warrants a sad face emoji?

It drives me nuts when I post a job posting looking for someone and I’m literally flooded with resumes from Indians claiming to be journeyman tradesmen in Canada.

I interviewed a m “red seal electrician” and asked some very basic questions and he was totally clueless. I feel for the good Indians not scamming the system looking for work because for every 1 of those to apply, there’s 20 of them, 15 not even in Canada yet applying.

I got 110 applications on my last posting and 90% of them were Indians. This is out of control. And now all low wage jobs are filled with them so wages can stay artificially low while our tax money subsidizes this through the temporary foreign worker program. And before you tell me who brought that out (it was harper), just know I hated it 10 years ago too when we worked in the alberta oil patch with Irish and Chinese workers.

Gotta respect the OG gentrifier Indians. If it wasn't for their hard work and determination creating the conditions, none of this would be possible.

Went to a convenient store to buy some stuff including condoms a couple weeks ago. Cute little Indian girl brings me the largest sized Magnums they had when I asked for some condoms. That was kind of awkward and flattering but nah sweetie.

They apply even if they can't show up or do the job? Now come on no one is that desperate they just have no self respect.

I don’t know, not really. I wasn’t implying that there was anything wrong or bad about the change in demographics. For the most part our neighbors have been relatively friendly enough, but there are times when my family has felt a little bit “isolated” culturally from the rest of the neighborhood. When my son was 5-7 years old he used to play with the neighborhood boys that are coincidentally all pretty much the same age as him, but he had a bit of a falling out with them in 2023 so he no longer wants to play with them anymore. Back when they were friends things were better as their parents would be friendly with me and my wife. But after two years of my son avoiding their sons the parents don’t talk to us anymore either.

I guess in some ways I now know what it must have been like for immigrant families in my hometown growing up where the population was probably 90-95% white, and the odd Filipino or Indian immigrant family here and there probably felt very isolated and unwelcome at times.

This is not an isolated incident either. I was formerly the manager of a mill and it was unbelievable on a much larger scale. They’d all lie and make totally fake resumes. They believe they can scam their way into jobs they have zero qualifications for. Some of them would even send the exact same resume between 3-4 of them with names changed. It’s insanity.

A lot of places pretty much discard any Indians’ resumes now which sucks for the good ones but yeah. They’ll even find crooked companies and buy their journeyman certification in various trades but they’re so dumb, they don’t realize you actually have to know the trade to do it. They pretty much dominate the trucking industry with license buying but it’s not as obvious to as many people there when they aren’t capable. Show up at a mill as a journeyman millwright who can’t turn a wrench and you’ll be gone before first break.
