I don't want to be comfortably numb.... I would rather the pain, if you can't handle that then do the sedation route but it wasn't as bad as you think without....... Like I said it was more uncomfortable than painful and the only bit of pain was the bends.
 
So what was the catalyst for the colonoscopy?

Make sure no one competes for toilet time during prep drinking shitting (diarrhea) time. There were times I thought the situation was stable then sat down on the toilet and without warning a ton of liquid came out. Scary.

I thought I read recently either E. Coli or something similar exposed to at birth could cause colon cancer many years later. Also read recently a certain # of oral sex partners boost throat cancer probability by a certain amount.

I had the colonoscopy and endoscopy done at the same time. I was knocked out cold for the ordeal but I imagine it was like being skewered for bbq.

Nothing to it, good thing is they sometimes retrieve rings and watches.

Wasn't happy with mine, asked for a 2nd opinion from a doctor with longer fingers and a bigger camera.

I had a colonoscopy under sedation. The doc was a prankster, so after giving me N2O he said "Well, if you don't like something, the stop word is flugegeheimen". I nearly died laughing before passing out.
 
If you do not do well with anesthesia, ask them to dose it with anti-nausea meds. I went through horrible withdrawal after the propofol. Sick for 5 hours. I understand why addicts don;t want to quit. The prep was also awful. Shit my intestines out.
 
Welp, I have begun the first leg of this shitty race.

I can't eat anything today. Just clear liquids. And I'm starving.

And I don't start drinking the solution for another 7 hours.

Guess I'll have to get some Gatorade or something just so I don't pass out from low blood sugar.
