The FDA is working approving a blood screening for colon cancer.

Edit: it was approved last year

Check for inflamation and for polyps and if said polyps could be cancerous. You can still have an issue even if the test comes back clean.
 
I've had it done, asked for no sedation.........it wasn't worth the sedation the worst bit is when they go round the bends and have to use air to inflate......... They still looked at me like a crazy person......

Why wouldn't you want sedation? Do you just enjoy that kind of thing?

At the very least get them good drugs that don't knock you out but they make you loopy.

It s not fun but it‘s a bit overblown. You drink that repugnant concoction, shit your ass out, go there, fall asleep and in most cases you‘ll be allright if God wishes. It‘s necessary.

Little known fact, you’re wide awake during a colonoscopy. You’re consciously sedated so you won’t remember a thing, but that way you can move if they need you to. Not gonna lie, it freaked me out a little when I learned that. The procedute is no big deal. Prep was AWFUL when I did it about 10 years ago. The shit I had to drink was god awful. It doesn’t seem to be as bad these days, whatever you drink now takes less of it and doesn’t taste so bad. My wife had to have one this past winter, it wasn’t a big deal at all.
