If Fedor came to UFC instead of Strikeforce, would he have had the same losing streak?

Fedor went 1-3 in Strikeforce before leaving.

Beating Brett Rogers but losing against Werdum, Silva, and Henderson.

Some big names at the time in the UFC were Lesnar, Carwin, Cain, and JDS.

Do you think if UFC signed Fedor instead of Strikeforce he would have done just as bad or could he have gone on to become champion?

Fedor was past his prime and those 3 losses were flukes anyway. Hendo was juiced and it was stopped early. He would’ve beat Werdum if he didn’t jump in his guard and Bigfoot was also juiced and it ended due to a doctors stoppage.

Fedor beat plenty of ufc heavyweights which proves he would’ve been dominant in the ufc as well

He would have gone 0-4 instead of 1-3. Fedor was great at fighting in a roped square, but he was unable to evolve to fighting in a caged octagon, which is why he resisted doing so for as long as possible.

Some top HWs in the UFC in 2009:
Brock Lesnar
Frank Mir
Junior dos Santos
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
Shane Carwin
Cain Velasquez

Fedor would most likely fight Brock, JDS, Mir and Velasquez. I think he would beat Brock and Mir but lose to JDS and Cain.

People need to realise the difference between wrestling in a ring vs. wrestling in a cage. Plus grounded knees to the head make any wrestler think twice about shooting if the opponent has a sprawl. I don't see any HW beat prime Pride Fedor. In 2010 I don't see him dominating in the UFC. in the year 2005 he would have killed Sylvia or Arlovski easily in the UFC.

It's a shame that Couture fight didn't work out. That was teh big match teh UFC waz trying to make before Lesnar beat Couture.

If Fedor could've kicked Lesner in teh diverticulitis like Overeem did... then Fedor could've beaten him, though it could've gone the other way if Lesnar was able to get him down consistently & ground control him.

Depends on who they matched him up with. He could have beaten Mir, Nog, Gonzaga, Roy maybe. But he would have lost to the top dogs.

Nicely put. Cain mauls him. JDS puts a beating on him. No way Brock wins. With Mir it’s 70-30 imo.

Fedor of that age (2010-2012) was simply not an elite fighter, period.

It's not more complicated than that.

The more interesting period to think about is the 2007-2009 period (post Pride, pre SF).
