Maybe some disruption here and there, but it takes a lot to make the locals go ham. At the end of the day, most people only react in extreme ways, to what personally effects them. Even in the UK, they're at "mass protests", and that's after their government purposefully covered up child rape gangs to protect their precious mugrants. You kind of have to ask what the line is, if not that. If you're relatively comfortable, regardless of what's going on, you ain't about to risk much more than holding a sign, to make a change.

The real big test that's coming, is AI stealing everyone's jobs. The elites better have a plan for that, because as I said, most people only react in extreme ways, when they're personally effected. That one is coming down the pipe faster than anyone realizes.

But it would be political suicide if the Dems allow that again. Even most Democrats were saying immigration was a problem toward the end of Biden's presidency.

the immigrants in the us are already scapegoated for "stealing" our jobs or driving prices down or up or whatever.

I don't care if people rip the world apart as long as i can be left alone but that might be real hard in the coming years.

post covid, it was a stark, stark change, we always had the latinos and asians in my area but the east Indians just got ridiculous. No one thought about anything before they got here? No one? I'm sure the upper classes just thought about cheap, scared shitless labor and nothing else. I know an east Indian man who had 3 male relatives come here in the last 5 or so years, I think 2 of them are truckers, not sure about the other guy and after they cracked down on the washington state CDL companies, they may have gotten stripped of their license and jobs. to me? none of it made sense from the begnining, American drivers are bad enough, more than bad enough wth all their drug problems and huge egos, then they give licenses to just about anyone before they know anything about where they are, makes no sense. What could possibly go wrong?

Already here, MS laid thousands off due to AI under the cover of a new venture that anyone getting laid off gets because of it gets money.
Husband got Covid laid off by Apple and is now employed via them again, waiting for that to happen again.

I didn't even know Obama deported so many until someone told me. They did not cause all the ruckus that they are now. The craziest thing is the media seems to be turning radically now. Its been said that the reason media changed since the days of Cronkite and so on was that rich kids took it over and brought there out of touch world view but it's changing scarily.

You'd certainly think so, but it's a two party system and people are fickle. Believe it or not, there are lots of people who thought running Trump again was political suicide.

That said, I do think the Dems have serious problems, and it is tied to their most recent performance. Horrible approval, voters are leaving in droves and they've got big donor issues. None of that has changed despite the big bad orange man effect they were banking on causing a pendulum shift. Their base seems to be getting more and more divided, if anything.

And many of those who get deported will return because the supply and demand incentives haven't changed.
