Was supposed to do sprint work this morning but had to skip it.

Very tired so going to rest probably today, do some conditioning and maybe thai wednesday then sack thursday off to rest for the para insight thing over the weekend

Cardio

Took some protein after waking up with some caffeine and BA.
Went for a hard run that left me dying. I had to stop after about 10 min not because of my lungs but I thought I was going to be sick. odd feeling, rather annoying too.
After the run got to the pool and did 30 min swimming. Varying the number of strokes without breathing, starting at 4 going up to 12 then doing lengths without breathing (a far cry from my 100 m breathstroke under water many moons ago....that was in a 25 m pool, so having to turn each time under the water- my lungs aren't that good anymore).
Last 5 minutes was sprint 1 length in sub 20 s then rest 40 s then sprint back.
2 laps cool down then had to leg it back inorder to get some breakie.



pm- thai

Went to hold pads for chris but ended up training with ol.

Had to stop and get going after 1 1/2 hours. I missed out on the clinch work but it felt like I'd had enough.
What the with training in the am I felt exhausted when I arrive and didn't have any gas in the tank (I could keep going, but my explosiveness wasn't there).
Also think my local muscular endurance in the shoulders and hip flexors is poor at the moment (but swimming and running probably compounded that)

Plus some fucking new guy was getting on my tits during the 3, 2, 1 round. I saw him monday and he was making a fucking racket shadow boxing. i don't mind usually if it looks like they're putting effort into it and even better on pads, but he was just making noise for the sake of it. Plus you can tell when someone is getting aggressive and releasing it through that (I'm guilty of that no end), but he was just making the noise ffs).

you train at minotaur right? do you know anything about the new gym in hitchin? my instructor said hes been offered a contract teaching Judo and grappling, apparently they wanna start up an MMA team or something?

Yeah I know the hitchin gym. Darren wants to get the interest up and get a AM boxing team going. He's been talking about a MMA team for ages under the banner of minotaurs, but we'll see about that.

Got there at 7 and got picked up with some other pads.
Got changed and went straight into a bleep test.
Got 11.1, which isn't 'too' bad. I need to get my head down a bit more on that I think

Warm up
80 press ups in 2 min (need 50, but 60 is acceptable)
71 sit ups in 2 min (need 50, but 60 acceptable)

1.5 mile jog to get to know the course
1.5 best effort. Got in the top 10 I think. Pulled 8 min 49. Lungs were alright, it was the legs that buggered me. My recovery was fine, I was standing up right without a problem with breathing within a minute. Lots of runts were there. The winner was a 19 year old cross country boy who got 7 min 40.

Did assault course after food. Good fucking food, good fucking fun

We didn't win, but I was yelling at the guys who were dragging us down 'WEAK LINK, someone replace the fucking WEAK LINK'. LOL, I was yelling more then the PTI's

Jogged to car park

10 intervals with jogging each rest

I need to measure it out. My legs were feeling tight on the run and I'm sure I was only pulling maybe 19s per interval, but I was jogging back and it was making it hard to breath and by number 6 I thought I was having a mild heart attack, so...in the grand scheme of things I think it was ok


pm- thai

3 rounds shadow boxing
1 round hard cardio on the pads
Held for 1

10 rounds sparring with lyndon. First 5 full technique, next 3 just boxing, last 2 full


Damn I felt fucked. Lungs were fine but shoulders gave up the ghost by round 4 and legs felt like lead. Couldn't get any aggression going either (and when your trying to trade with a 18 stone 21 year old, thats not good)

Woke up at 6.20 this morning and started getting a fucking nose bleed from just lying down. If that isn't a good sign i don't know what is.

I reckon its because I'm trying to lose weight (not working), taking caffeine, ephy and yohimbine (raises blood pressure), taking fish oil (thins the blood) and did 3 hours training tuesday.

Cardio
Walked to gym. Too tired to jog
20 minutes swimming

Walked back

I ran out of time to be honest because of getting up late and walking

I'm going to go into a coma tonigh and veg out

I don't feel I'm not sitting back enough with my zdl. I have the brute force still, but not the technique like I used to. Hence the low weight on the squat and making sure I sit right the fuck back as low as my hips allow. Side note, my arse is sore now

2 sets of 5 ab roll outs. Not from feet up though because my back seems strained from the ZDL so when I get down it makes a real complaint.

Ran home and eat like a fat boy

I'm trying the whole caffeine, ephedrine, yohimbine twice a day and have been for...I think it'll be 3 weeks this monday.

I've cleaned up my diet and everything (whats chocolate again) but I'll be damned if I'm not eating more but cleaner food.

I think I've put on a few pounds to be honest, even though I'm training in the morning (well, calories in, calories out it doesn't matter when I train). I'm trying to be consistant on the lifting now.

I want to be 78 kg (12 st 5) and I was at 81 kg (12 st 11) a few weeks ago, but now I'm back at work (desk job), training more and eating more regularly, my weight is going up (not sure about body composition though).

I don't WANT to lose it, but I've been put into a pact without my knowledge when we were in thailand where the knowles said they'd go down to 95 and 88 kg (from 112 and 120 ish respectively), so I couldn't argue to much about it. Only thing is I haven't really introduced the thai boxing back into the equation yet (which is why I'm back to being shit, plus tired from the am training)

No fights at present. They tend to come at late notice (3 weeks is the most warning I've had for a uk fight, least is....umm....5 days- that was my first one lol).
Based on my performance on tuesday against lyndon though, I think I should think about where my priorities lay (and someone wants a rematch for a english title from me....I'd have to be in tip top for that fucker)

Second...I have to disagree about the cal thing i mean yeah you're right but always have MUCH MORE luck with doing all my fat burning in the morning then the other functional workout stuff (MT, BJJ, wrestling, cardio) later in the evening after a couple of meals and a little rest...
Your drop though is easy, your lucky ;) lol
 
I'm trying to kill myself off with the am training (ala get the hard 'I'm going to puke' conditioning done then) and to be honest its the first time I've done it so early and without breakie (although I knock back some whey), so we'll see how it goes.

I'm not a fat boy by any means. I'm pretty solid, but I want my times down on the runs and other bench marks incase I do go down the army route later this year.

We'll see what happens with this experiment

Cardio
Fast run for about 12 minutes (easily 1 3/4 miles) before the lungs gave way. The legs were bad for the first few minutes but they were ok when I got into it.
Jogged some of the way then got to where I used to do sprints.
3 sprints of about 200m. At the end of each sprint, 10 burpees but wo press up or jump (I daren't with the numbness in the buttocks and the slippery ground), then jog back to starting position and off again.
Jogged for a bit home then ran to get the whole session to sub 40 minutes. Made it with a minute to spare

*high five*


edit- got home and did just 2 sets of 45 press ups and 50 leg raises.

Never have these easy things seemed so hard

28 min row at level 10. Covered 7k. Just shut my mind off and listened to some terry practchett

Had a sprint race for 500 against one of the girls I'm chatting up. She just came over and down sat with her friend. It took me a second to work out who it was because NO ONE comes and sits close to me when i'm training. I put up a 'fuck off' zone around myself when training. Although a disturbing number of girls always get on machines behind me.

Unfortunately I don't muck about when training so by the time she finished in 1 min 15 I was sitting around bored.
Oh well.

Did work until about 9 with chris, then focused on him for about 20 minutes (I went down just to train him, but we did tit for tat work. My god my shoulders were fucked. Lungs-fine, legs okish, shoulders, couldn't keep my 16's up. He's done 3 hours from the morning so we were both a couple of cripples)
Took anwar on the pads for 4 fitness rounds playing it by ear because now he has a fight in 4 weeks (3rd march?). So looks like I'm going down to train them (and ol because he's fighting now) on thurs and sat.
