To be honest mate I don't know


I started the thai boxing the same time as I started lifting, and I got serious with one the same time as I got serious with the other (about a year after), so its hard to say.

When I was doing KB and not training as hard I would do lots of push ups and sit ups (all bw work....but no running or sprints.....or even skipping-it was a shit kb gym, more for a laugh at uni then anything). That was before I got my technique down and started getting beasted, so I'm probably faster and fitter now regardless of the weight training.

Long story short I don't know mate.

I can say since I've started doing other bits my clinch work is stronger and I'm pretty unmovable in the clinch and solid on my feet (we play about and people try and sweep my leg and its a real effort even when I'm on one leg)

It dragged on and felt so wrong didn't do my sprints on the rower.

I didn't mean to do anything taxing, I just got carried away :redface:

I have been only lifting once a week for a month or something now (been havign fridays off), so its just a matter of having a go when I can.

If you look, my OHP hasn't really varied much around the 70-75 kg mark for ages.

It won't now seeing as I'm going to stop weights for a while (well, till 2008 now)

Afternoon
Sledge hammer work. Jogged to the field, which was a odd site. Its probably a 1-1.5 mile walk, so I was jogging down with a 10lb sledge hammer over one shoulder. I got some looks from drivers (the look of 'if he comes closer I'm going to drive off very fast and call the police)

3 rounds shadow boxing
2 rounds holding
1 round single double triple. 1 min teeps

2 rounds holding (1 person did lung buster, other for a simple technique- jab low, left hook head kick, right hand left low). For 3 both techs. Last min was power long range knees

4 rounds holding the pads for ol. Last round was including kicks, others were boxing with belly pad.

Ol held for 4 rounds for me. 2 rounds just boxing, 2 rounds full technique. 1st round min ending was 1 min punching, same on 2nd. 3rd was low kicks on the low kick pad, final round was 10, 7, 5, 3, 2, 1 both sides mid.
I hate that little bastard (and I told him...I haven't said that since the last time he held pads for me)

Got there late due to car and insurance people issues. So missed the first 30 min so did bag work for the next 30.
For the next hour I did 1 round tit for tat with chris, then 2 rounds full technique. I was doing ok till almost the end of the 2nd round when because I was catching him nicely with the left knee I threw it, he parried it with his elbow and it my knee right where tony hit it last week. I went down and was down for a good 20s. I managed some half hearted boxing for the last 10s of the round.

Mucked about with rookies for 5 rounds, just boxing.

2 rounds against chris just boxing. He was annoyed at how much he was missing and getting hit when he sparred me because compared to other people I'm too fast for him. First round was basically a boxing toe to toe war, the 2nd round was pretty much the same. Both of our arms were full of lactic and le fucked.

oh yeah, my left knee is fucking aching at the moment and feels slightly swollen while the right knee is sore and I can't bend it fully.

Stayed over night at the gym, got up and started training at 6.30.
Held
1 round just warming up boxing
4 rounds boxing with the belly pad on. At the end of each 3 min round was 1 min continuous punching.
Did the same as above with chris hitting
Held for 4 rounds full thai
Hit for 4 rounds full thai.

We ran out of time due to me having to get back to go to work. But we should have done the 10, 7, 5, 3, 2, 1 on the kicks.
 
I did it for 3 weeks every night when i was preparing for dubai. But then again I had given in my notice at my old job then.
I made a lack of sparring mistake for that one though.

The gym is only 15 miles away, but getting there in the morning just won't happen (me, up at 5.45 to get there to train for 6.30. I don't think so)

I did JJ from 2000-2002, kb sept 2001-2004, Judo and MT (while I was in my MMA phase) 2003-2004 and pure MT 2003-present (I went for my first fight after 13 months of doing thai, but i bullied into that. I wanted to fight after 2 months but was told to work on my clinch and see how it goes. I got to a point where after uni I was training my arse off for nothing more then being a perfectionist-not my wording. I was told I was going to fight in 5 days out of the blue by mr taylor sir. That was nov 2004 3 days before my graduation ceremony)

Got back late from london so didn't go training. But it was nice and cold and raining so had to go for a run.

Short hard run, about 20-25 min. <y pace was ok, but I couldn't keep it up throughout the run

4 rounds holding for a russian mong who though he knew how to box. I fucking hate people like that. When I got there he was kicking the bag like a *** and his shadow boxing was shit. As soon as it was time to pair up he came straight over to me to pair up. Every body else had paired up. Cunts
4 rounds showing mong how to fucking hold pads. I put a belly protector on him and winded him a few times for round 3 and 4. That made me feel better. Also wrench his shoulder out and made him stop holding pads with a right hand for about 10s. Couldn't hold pads for shit. Even worse then his ability to throw a punch. And he still had the nerve to try and show off by jumping over the top rope. God this is the wrong gym and I'm the wrong person to do that to.


Held for 2, then I did single double triple round

3 rounds holding for lyndon
3 rounds pad work
